picked up my car, apparently been moved to another shop without my permission. that was the last straw, though i have to admit, the shop it was at was brand new and speacilized in gt3RS's, gt2s, turbos, and old 911 race cars. body and labor for exterior was only 42/hr, second guessing taking it back. some of there race cars were absurd. 87 wide body black turbo with HRE wheels, full cage, and built motor, phew.

anyone have some TF limited edition black Nt03s? Or just normal NT03s? Im feeling a change from the rpf1s.

Dad officially really likes the rpf1s (vs nt03s and anything else in that price range) but only in black. keep an eye out.

finally started reading back a couple pages. only thing i have to add before i keep reading, is the evodave fender mod is crap. its a band aid for a proper solution and adds unneeded stress. for what its worth, it looks like crap.

does this mean chu and i agreed on something? holy ****, thats weird.

and doing what we talked about last night, meeting with body shop tomorrow, dropping off car, returning to stock, and fresh paint. maybe paint the wheels (doubtful), darker tint (even less likely) but def 3m clear bra on hood and fenders.

anyone else have a clear bra? hows it held up? dad has one on his bumper, side skirt portion, and half hood, and not noticeable unless your looking for it.

On a side note I'd like to meet the previous owner of the car and ask him wtf was he thinking. Kinda feel bad for the Aspen White 07' STI he traded in for.

^^paimport.....nice looking cars a good vid. glad you got it fixed before it blew. love those gold wheels, ferrari aiint bad either.

tomo if the day of reckoning figuring out what, if anything, i can do to the evo. i just dont see the point of paying 652 bucks for a stock FMIC when a JMF one is 790 or less. freaking insurance. maybe beg for a nose chop? could take it else where but just want it freaking back.

anyone on here done a straight pipe in SS all the way back from the DP? talking to a buddy about a straight pipe for his evo. has a catless DP. got me thinking as well. a custom SS cat back, DP back, no resonators, no muffler would not only sound mean, but look a lot better than the fart cans. i just would be worried about lack of back pressure in the system from no muffler, tho it seems to work for AMS turn down at the track. josh chu any jimbo marc thai any of you guys with more knowledge than me car to chime in? good idea, bad idea? all about performance first, then sound and look.

wont be on for a bit, txt me if you have an idea and have my number. thanks guys

Seriously though I don't drive enough to appreciate DD tire wear but once I started running -3* the tires started making a lot more noise when street driving. It may mean nothing or it may mean something.

If I were driving up from NC frequently, I'd run a max of -2* up front but that's just my useless opinion.

Where in NC are you?

My bad, haha. This thread grows like 5 pages a day, and the "most recent post" button doesn't work for **** for me.

Anyway, I say DD because it's the short way to explain. My Evo is an extra car. I drive it pretty often (multiple times a week) for fun. And then also use it for AutoX and drag strip. I'm not in either competitively, just have fun with it. BUT, i still want to be optimized if i can, hence the A6's. So, trying to get across, it's not like i depend on the car to get to work, and commute in it daily. I'm willing to donate the rest of my current street tires to experimenting with more camber.

I'm stationed at Ft Bragg (Fayetteville), but live as far away from that God-Forsaken town as i reasonably can. It's like dead nuts center NC.

if you're only looking at perforce stand point, then back pressure is bad. you want the least amount of restriction after the turbo for spool. real race cars run straight pipes an exit to the side.

Straight pipe on the street is crazy, you will end up hating it and get in all kinds of trouble with the Po Po. Just get a semi quiet exhaust, you will thank me later. Do you even race that car or did you?

Brake Domination update:
Brakes, rotors and cooling ducts installed -just have to run the ducts to front of car

Tonights Work:
Finish ducts, install AC fan, fix seat belts including reinstall of Schroth belts
Remove rear seats

Friday:
Take car to mechanic to get form filled out, test drive car, bed pads, load trailer
Arrive at NJMP around 4:00 ish

If you run true 3 inch resonators and mufflers that doesn't neck down on an exhasut system, you don't lose any spool or power compared to a straight pipe. All you really will gain is sound decibel and weight advantage.

Mike... No cage no harness on the track, imo. Not sure if they'd even let you use it. Don't wanna be held in the seat upright if the roof is pushed in

Shoe, that is a NASA rule, I do know that for sure. TrackDaze and Porsche Club are more lenient(?) on that policy

those ASM harnesses are the only ones approved for use without a roll bar. Some clubs still don't allow them but most do. Speaking of roll bars, Dan and I got my **** installed in two hours last night. fu(king bangin;

Looks like errbody is getting ready for the domination this weekend!!

Morning bishes

ASM only help to prevent submarining in a frontal collision. the stich on one of the shoulder harness breaks away (lengthening the harness) allowing your upper body to lean forward (similar the oem 3 point harness) instead of sliding under the lap belt and crushing your organs. in a roll over the Schroth with ASM still hold your body up right (unless you hit something head on prior to the roll over to enable the ASM). or if you still have oem seat, which the back can break (most are designed to) and allow your body to fold down.

most DE event's let you use schroth harness with ASM. i do agree with aaron that you don't want to use any harness if you don't have roll bar in case of a roll over, ASM doesnt save you there.

once again, if you don't have roll bar, then it's best to use oem seat and seat belt. if you have roll bar, then you'll need fix back seats, harness and head/neck restraint. i would NEVER use harness without neck restraint, i like my head to be attached to my body. my neck is worth more than $600

when i drive Chu's car, i use his oem harness instead of his Schroth. i also do the same when i'm in student's car.
