Sadly I'll need more than a blower in the bimmer to keep up with chus guys in the EVO's. What I have in store doesn't make me faster, but it does give me mad street cred, yo.

Can't be that much prep on a new car.

Here's what I would do:

Wash with dish detergent to completely cleanse the surface of all waxes.
Clay entire car with light to intermediately duty clay bar
Go over car with a single stage compound, like Menzerna Final Polish or something
Either wash again, or cleanse all surface with a 50/50 water/alky mix.
Make sure its completely dry...then apply Opti-Coat

Make sure you do it on a warm day, with low humidity. Need to give it 24hrs of dry time to cure.

you guys got any tips for getting 285 Hoosiers inside my front fenders?

I already have the wheels/tires. Ordered trailing links for the rear since the test fit didn't go well, and i'm going with custom links rather than a pretty extreme pull on the quarterpanel. (leaves room for another upgrade in the future too).

I'm already expecting to need a 10+mm spacer in the front for the wheels to clear the Brembos. Which will have the rubber sticking way out.

I've heard of some sort of insert that goes behind the stock fender and gives a bunch more clearance similar to an aftermarket "widebody" fender. I'm not concerned with looks, just want my **** to fit under the car for function. With that said, i don't want my front fenders crumpled, and i've heard it's easy to ruin them with modification.

You hard-core racers have any advice? i can't find **** doing searches for "fender widening kit".

What make and model of wheels, size and offset?

Rolling the front fenders is an absolute no-no. And those fender widening mods are STUPID!

This will help...

i ran 285/35 A6 with 18x9.5 +38 wheels with 22mm spacers up front two weeks ago. the front tire stuck out pass the front fenders about .5" but did not rub, i guess the car didn't compress enough to rub. my car is not really lowered though. probably 1.25" tire gap to the front fenders.

^For clarification, Thai runs extra 2mm of spacer because of brake cooling ducts. Most people only need 20mm for firment.\

How much camber were you running Thai?

We run 285's on 10" RPF1's with a 38 offset. On Shoe's car we use a 15 mm spacer to clear coilovers in front, 4mm on rear to clear trailing arm. Rear fenders are rolled, lip is flat.

On my car I ran a 20 mm spacer on front, front fender was pulled out with a bat and a jack method, also just yank on it with my hands. On rear I used 5 mm spacer, my lip was rolled flat and the spot where it is screwed on was cut off.

Hope that helps
