damn, I'm not competitive at all in TTS... track records @ njmp are 1:13 @ lightning & 1:28 @ TB. Do i have enough mod points left over to switch from the star specs to the hoosiers?

edit: looks like I could be competitive locally in TTA if I can lose some mod points.
this classification stuff is very confusing... makes the scca rules look like cake.

you have to run in TTS because of the NON oem turbo (evo 9 turbo). you can't run in stock class unless you put stock turbo back in.

in TTS, there's no limits on power mods, suspension mods, aero mods. just power to weight has to be greater than 8.7:1

you can drop some weight or jack up the power to be near 8.7:1 power to weight, throw some Rcomp on and you'll be faster than 13.xx at Lightning. you ran 15.xx on street tires. big rcomp will be at least a couple sec faster.

how do you know people are being truthful with their power/weight claims? I wouldn't have a problem putting the VIII turbo back on if need be. heck, @ 20psi I doubt there is much gain being had there.

everyone has to fill out a classification form and its put on the web for everyone to see. if you start wining, then people are going to take a close look at your car and that mod list. if you get caught cheating, your name will be on every car forum

put the evo 8 turbo back on and you should be very competitive in TTA. you should be able to keep most the mods you have now to be in TTA. but i don't think the cams are worth the points in TTA though.

i like the NASA rules better than SCCA because i can modify my car the way i want and be in the same class as someone else with the same car but different mods.

you def have my wheels spinning... going to have to do more research and see what I come up with. other than the turbo there isn't anything I really want to remove on my car.

one more question: if I remove the IX turbo and run the 285/30/18 A6's, would I still be classed in TTA or would I need to remain on the star specs?

edit: I wasn't implying I wanted to cheat, just getting an idea of how everything is policed. autox is kinda the same way, you class your car and nobody really pays much attention until you start winning.

The way Thai explained it to me before is NASA is points driven, not mods. So you basically can do whatever you want, all long as you stay within the points limit for that class. Unlike how cams throw us in SM for SCCA, a stock class in NASA can have cams, and still stay in stock. Much simpler.

Marc, I have the 8 turbo off my car. This was my original with 60,000 on it. If you want it on the cheap text me my brutha....
I would get rid of that down pipe for a 3". I cant believe all the mods you have and you are running that sissy size 2.5" pipe! Mine fits just fine BTW and its an old Buschur (which dont fit that great but mines works)

Also Honda dude is right, if you are all that get some dam R compounds already!

I would love to throw down on the track with you guys and teach you a thing or two Problem is I am scared! Not scared of the track per say but scared I will wreck car or myself. I assume you Autox guys that have seen some of my off road antics can appreciate my concerns... One of these days though....

In other news I actually got all dressed up for work and had a good sales appt. with a new dealer. Hoping that it means some new business for my company, actually praying would be more accurate.
I normal do Polo shirt and jeans with shoes, this was pants, dress shirt... the full monty..
Kind of sad I never dress to impress and own a business.. Need to work on that.

My wife is taking my kid down the shore this afternoon until Sat. Why do woman do the opposite of what makes sense. I was away all last weekend, I am home this weekend and away next weekend Autoxing. Why not go away when I am away... that ish annoys me.
I think I will pick up a case of the NN, havent had that in a while and will be getting drunk tonight by myself..

Its simple, every car starts in base class, for every 20 points you use you bump up one class.
Non oem turbo or engine swap put it in non stock class.

Tires size and compound has points, so you can't use what ever you want. A6 has the most points orther than full slicks.

If you want to run free for all, run TTS and just have to worry about power to weight ratio. You're going to have to remove more than the evo 9 turbo to run TTA looking at your current mod list.

I think you have about 45 points to use to stay in TTA
