Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
What tires?
I've never tried the DTC series myself, but guys I know have run the 60's & 70's but they mostly run on R-comps. I've also seen that when the DTC pad deposits get wet they fuse to the rim and can't be removed without some nasty abrasive chemical and a lot of eblow grease.
All our cars (you, me and Dan) are similar so it will be interesting to see how the minimal mods come into play along with the different drivers.

Do yourself a big favor and don't run stuff at the track, chances are you'll blow your car up, sayin'

Quardrophine, there is a large group of us going to Watkins Glen in September with GVC BMWCCA.
All you need is a car in good mechanical condition (at least 50% left of pads, rotors & tires, but more is better), fresh brake fluid, a helmet and a willingness to learn.

motorcycle helmet okay?
where is watkins glen, and about how fast is the track?
and should i not be running e85 on the track?
I figured it's a better fuel to drive hard on than 93, which begs one more question, can I fill up on e85 anywhere near by?
that shouldn't be too difficult.

Better sign up quick before the beginner group is filled...
You will need a full face SA2005 helmet or newer. No open faced M (motorcycle) helmets allowed.
Don't run e85, its not practical or needed for a DE. PUmp gas and 20psi is WAY more than enough power to get you around a road course. Same with alky, not needed.
WGI is in Watkins Glen NY and is a very fun and fast track. You can hit 140+ if you have the power and skill. There are a couple sections of the track where you can hit 100+ a few times a lap.
