I actually agree with this and would not do the road course, but set up as an Autox it is usually pretty safe. The speeds are kept to make it like an autox, 100 mph does not happen when cones are involved. Perry A. knows what is up and usually sets a nice course. I have done that autox on a road course twice and had fun both times.

I think my plan is DC this weekend and Englishtown next weekend. Then off to Disney.. BTW Pete, when I scheduled the Disney trip 2-3 months back the Holbert was not on those dates. I purposely tried to schedule trip around Autox and somehow screwed up. I did not officially recognize the mistake until last night when I was reviewing my race schedule for May. Whatever, I will get my seat time one way or another. Now to let the wifey know, good thing I did this trip or my wife would be done with me

Marc, good luck with your upcoming new arrival. I guess the month of May is daddy time for you. We will see you in June, Mazal Tov on the new arrival (that Hebrew for congrats, funny I have no idea how to spell that right)

I would never want to do a track day there for that very reason. There is no run off what so ever, the little bit they do have isn't even graded. It makes for good fun to autox though.

i have to drop a bit of cash on the wife's corrolla for tires and brakes and inspection. i guess it is an investment as it will be my beater after she gets a new car in a few months.

there is nothing fun about shopping for tires that are 195/65/15.

i don't know. i would imagine with the collective experience of building, tuning and driving that it could have been prevented.

i don't have my panties in a bunch about this. i just found it interesting.

yeah, but he better not fu(k up my track weekend either. The first thing they teach you in that pregnancy classes are that no matter what you expect or plan for, it will never happen like that. so true.

I did a couple AX's on that road couse as well as the free track day they had last year (or maybe it was 08). Anyways, that place scares me for anything other then an AX. those time attack guys who were there before are taking their lifes in their hands running around @ 10/10ths on that course, IMO. Way too much risk to take and if you make one little mistake you could be seriously fu(ked.

I'm in the same boat. I just did the inspection for my wife's civic a couple of weeks ago. Tires passed but won't on the next inspection. Drove it into the city yesterday and it felt like I was driving a shoebox with marsh mellows for wheels. I don't want to sell it or trade it in have a few more payments and it's mine forever. Going to drive it until the wheels pop off. Just have to get the 30k service, you will love this.

I email Honda in WC and ask about their 30k service, what they do and how much. For $280 bucks they change your oil, filter, air filter, top off fluids and basically inspect the car to make sure everything looks nice. I just got an inspection why do I need another one? The manual says at 30k I gotta flush the trans and brake fluid, but they don't do that. Seriously? WTF?

they will basically change your oil and put a new air filter in... not really worth the price of admission.

Would love to, but don't have a garage and I'd probably f' it up. Besides I know a place close to me that could probably do this work for a lot less.

Yeah, reminds me of my wife's friend (a women) who got her volvo's brake work done at the dealership. They charge her about 3K for that. I told her never do that again before talking to a man.

if you need a garage to use, you got mine. the more you do the better you get at this stuff. my wrenching skills have vastly improved since messing with my car. and seeing that your wheel/tire removing skills are right up there with ryan's any practice will only help. i'm busting your *** btw.

I have a good set off the Accord, you can have them. You just have to pay for them to dismounted off the steelies they're on. They're the oe Michelins, I swapped them out for 16" alloys as soon as I got the car cause I couldn't stand the hubcaps.
