Wheels should cost more then the tires. If you want to save cash, buy used.

haha probably better to just powder coat stockers black then to buy other wheels, and then just save for decent pair of rims.

Dosn't metalsaber have some rims for sale? If there is one thing i've learned buying car parts. Buy them used if you find what you want.

My brother has some Rota's he could sell you, I know they're 18x9, not sure about the offset but he had them on his 2008 X. I think you've seen them.
I know one has some curb rash, nothing a black sharpie marker couldn't cover up. Lemme know you have my # if you wanna check them out this weekend.

Not a bad idea. I just sent my Volks in to get repaired and powder coated. ALOT cheaper than buying new wheels and can really change the look of the car. 99% sure that this is the color I'm going with - what do you guys think? Yay or nay?

Its called Kingsport Grey Metallic

I think that color would look pretty nice on your car.

IMHO I would leave the CE28s gold. Goes well with your silver car.

Don't get me wrong, they have grown on me and I like the way they look, but if I'm going to get them recoated its going to be a different color. Just need a change.

i'm with pghdsm. i think wheels look good when they contrast the car a bit.

I like black, but its too common and you can't even see what the wheel looks like. I think white looks terrible on a silver car. The color I picked is more gunmetal than it looks in the picture, but depending on how the light hits it has a shiny silver sheen to it. The pic I posted doesnt do it justice.

Its tough trying to pick a color out of hundreds of options when all you can see is a swatch. I really wanted black chrome - but it was the one color he didn't have.

that's cool that they have swatches and what not.

gonna have to let me know how that turns out. i wouldn't mind getting my winter wheels patched up and re-finished.

did you have to do the prep, or was that taken care of by them?

Do i need to get alignment after i put new wheels on?? wheel are 1/2" wider and offset is bit more aggressive from 35+ to 25+ or is alignment only for lowering the car? Sorry for dumb question..

it's a good idea when you change tire sizes to get an alignment.

your car isn't going to burst in to flames if you don't, but you could end up with some odd tire wear or in the worst case scenario having some pulling or other drive-ability issues.

so if you have the time and money, i would say do it.
