so if you have the time and money, i would say do it.
Ah ok thanks. I have springs coming to and wont have tires yet either so just throw them all on and get alignment changed.

when the springs go on you're pretty much guaranteed to need an alignment, especially in combination with a different tire size.

sometimes i get lazy about alignments, like when i put my snow tires on this year. normally i run a 255/40/17 for summer but the snow tires i have are 225/45/17. i just put them on and it wasn't too bad. haven't really had any issues to speak of and while it's hard to tell the wear definitively since i haven't put all that many miles on them, so far it looks just fine and the car isn't having any pulling issues or anything else indicative of a substantial alignment problem.

with a major change in suspension geometry though you're going to need to re-align it. so might as well put the tires on at the same time and get everything synced up.

are you installing the springs yourself, or are you having them done by a professional?

Ok thanks for all the info and help. and for the springs, im not to sure yet. I would like to have mike do it, but my dad wants to go to his friends shop for a lift and all 3 of us would put them on. Im kinda hesitant about doing that. Would you recommend just mike, and having him do alignment at same time? so therefore it all gets done, and done right.

i would recommend just handing it off to mike and getting everything done at once.

putting springs on isn't all that hard per se, but it is a pretty big pain in the *** and very tedious. plus i am always leery of one of the spring compressors slipping loose or breaking somehow and having a rather hefty spring go flying.

i've done springs 2 or 3 times now and if you don't have an automatic spring compressor it's a solid 6+ hour job once you factor in getting the shocks/struts out, changing the springs over on each, and getting them reinstalled. it can go a bit faster with multiple people and multiple spring compressors, but still just kind of a pain.

def not me that early haha. but i was going home around 3 saturday to get my evo after getting it inspected and passed a silver one like mine but it was dropped beyond reason.

when i went to start mine i found out it has pink eye. it burned out like 5min later and i can say this is prob one of the only times the HID levelers have come in handy. im at least glad this happened after it was inspected. but now i gotta find new bulbs. i liked the oem ones but they are $180 each at lancershop

Are you factoring time spent busting up your shoulder into this?

Haven't done springs on an Evo yet, but I was putting struts on an Accord the other day and with their honeycomb shaped progressive springs, I was getting nervous that my spring compressor was going to slip off, not a good feeling at all.

i'm hoping that broken shoulders are only a feature on the RS.

but yeah, strictly speaking the longest suspension swap ever performed. like 7 months and counting at this point.

Oki, Go buy the nokya ones. They are perfectly fine and actually seem better then the PIAA ones. I've tried them both!

how low are we talking? baierl did mine a couple times with springs, and i know they've done a few with coilovers as well. i think speed nation has also done some lowered cars and corner balancing but don't quote me on that.
