Mike has aligned so many Evo's he can probably due it in his sleep (or nightmares depending on the car .) Everything from road race cars, hillclimb champions, SCCA Auto-x National Champions to the average street Evo....

Anyone ever have any body work done at Baierl? I hit a deer off the front bumper and need to get the lip replaced. Trying to find the easiest route to getting the insurance to cover the cost for an SE lip instead of the standard lip. Probably be easiest through Baeirl, but I don't know the quality of their work.

I'm going down there tomorrow afternoon to get a quote. Went to CarStar (which is partnered with State Farm) and they quoted $975. $250 for just the standard lip, which is $50 more than Baierl's cost. He couldn't find the SE lip and couldn't tell me what the cost would be. I'm probably going to have to pay out of pocket for the difference in price between the two, so I'm trying to minimize that as much as possible. I figure Baierl can get the parts at cost, so the price between the two should be cheaper.

Unlike CarStar though, Baierl doesnt guarantee their work from defects.

If you have a nice car you go to Dave's auto restoration. If you drive an Evo go to bariel or anywhere for that matter. It's body work, many people kno how to do it.

I was not happy, but that was over 5 yrs ago. But a fellow suby owner recently had a bad experience there in the body shop. Mascari's has always done quaility work and i think Spun auto's brother works there.

mine was warranty related....I didn't choose to go there. Can't get any worse than the pos paint job they come with from the factory.

Sounds familiar but I had mine done at a local bodyshop (Greensburg) that let me swap parts in. Did you run the deer over? I know from experience that if you ran it over, you probably did more damage than what is visible. I bent up the bottom of my intercooler and mangled the underbody braces. Im sure you looked, but double check, mine looked worse than I originally thought.

SE lip requires multiple parts and sometimes can be purchased as the "SE lip kit". I know mitsubishiparts.net sells it like this.

It does not come painted.

Hmmm...maybe I won't go to Baierl. I dunno, still trying to figure out how to make this work. Mike told me that as long as I don't have the stock undertray installed, then bolting up the SE lip shouldnt be a problem. I still have yet to meet with the claims adjuster, so I'm not sure yet if I should be telling him about my plans to install a different lip or not.
