because you're in BSP or SM anyways because of your tire size i wouldn't even bother putting the cat back on since i believe you're fine to run in either of those classes without one. i know for sure you are in SM, you would have to check the rules for BSP, but i doubt it would be an issue.

north park will be starting up again sept 11th.

yeah no problem man, glad to help out.

i wouldn't worry too much about the tires, you will have enough to keep your mind occupied without worrying about optimal speed.

you might want to put the pressure up some to compensate if the side walls are a little soft. often guys will get chalk and draw on the side walls then keep increasing the pressure until they stop rolling over and wearing away the marks.

kind of a quick way to help compensate for street tires.

good luck. if there's any other questions you think i could help with don't hesitate to hit me up.

i had the psi on my tires at around 35-37psi between them and i was sliding a lot.. the tires sidewalls are really hard im pretty sure, so i lowered them all down to 31psi and that helped my times quite a bit. or my driving just improved alot but i didnt notice it slide as much with the psi being that low. I wasnt pushing the car at all in the beginning either. but ill see what works the best out there and what you guys reccomend on the types of tires i have.

Nope, I just miss you guys, been so long since I have talked to you guys, and Mondo you are my best friend.

Mondo I thought you were buying an S4? What makes you think I no longer have an evo. I am pretty sure only I would know that

Oh and for the flash light drags, why not go to the 1/4 mile. PRP will atleast let you stretch your legs?

I'm pretty sure I'm going. May actually wash my car for it too.

It is completely different. It is fun to see what your car can do against other cars vs just going for a time. Also, you get as many runs as you want vs. a maximum of 4 runs over the course of 4 hours. I already know what my car can do in the 1/4, it is just cool to see how it does against cars I normally wouldn't get to race against. Also, if you win, you get sweet trophies made of junked car parts and sometimes cash.

You forgot to mention some pretty sweet photos with the flashlight hotties, you don't get those at PRP

Yea true, thats one reason PRP never was test and tune friendly. The lines were 2 miles long and the cars normally broke leaving you only 1 or 2 runs.

Well car is back...dyno numbers improved, but not as much as I had hoped. I have got to get the stock BOV off, can only get 28psi

Made 370whp, 369tq on Buschur Dyno. BUT...the car feels more like a beast now, its pulling big time on the top end...feels nice...

Gotta wait until PRP next Thursday to get the car out...and get in those 11's. I would hope to get below mid 11's...on these street tires...

at least that will be the goal.

I think thats it. head and block are completely stock along with suspension besides sways going on this week. Thanks for the help mondo
I just read over some rules, and it says that exhausts must exit to the side of the car or rear?? i have an 02 dump down pipe will that matter?? it exits right near the drive shaft... And the car might be too loud with that downpipe on the car, and i have no cats on the car.
Josh,
My name is Frank Gaus, myself and my wife Kristi are the Steel Cities Region Assistant Solo Chairs and run the season events. Glad to hear you have been enjoying your autocross experience so far. Looks like your car will fall in to BSP. In BSP you can do all the normal bolt-on mods, boost is unlimited, as well as fuel pumps, injectors and fuel type (93/E85/C16). You can change the suspension component – coilovers, swaybars and bushings. You can upgrade all your diffs and use any clutch you like. You do not need a Cat for BSP or SM. The biggest thing in BSP is you cannot change the engine internals, turbo or do any weight reduction with carbon fiber of removing the interior of the car. Getting a wider set of wheels is a good idea if you plan on going to race tires down the road. But I would recommend getting a set of Dunlop Star Specs, 265 or 275 would work. They will cost less, last longer and perform very well compared to a NT-01 or RA-1 r-comp tire. Just go get as much set time as you can get for now. And with SCR, NHSCC and Beaverun low key (run by SCR) there are usually 30 events locally. I haven’t been doing many NHSCC events this year, but we do have 3 SCR events left this year, 9/25, 10/8 and 10/9. If you make it out to any SCR events be sure to look me up. Also, there is another Beaverun Low Key this Friday.
