Local Pittsburgh meet part deux
Welcome...congrats on the new ride!
Depending on what you want to do with your car, there are lots of things to do in the surrounding 60 mile radius of Pittsburgh. Here are some links, but by no means all things available, but at least some road courses to really enjoy the car...

Josh,
My name is Frank Gaus, myself and my wife Kristi are the Steel Cities Region Assistant Solo Chairs and run the season events. Glad to hear you have been enjoying your autocross experience so far. Looks like your car will fall in to BSP. In BSP you can do all the normal bolt-on mods, boost is unlimited, as well as fuel pumps, injectors and fuel type (93/E85/C16). You can change the suspension component – coilovers, swaybars and bushings. You can upgrade all your diffs and use any clutch you like. You do not need a Cat for BSP or SM. The biggest thing in BSP is you cannot change the engine internals, turbo or do any weight reduction with carbon fiber of removing the interior of the car. Getting a wider set of wheels is a good idea if you plan on going to race tires down the road. But I would recommend getting a set of Dunlop Star Specs, 265 or 275 would work. They will cost less, last longer and perform very well compared to a NT-01 or RA-1 r-comp tire. Just go get as much set time as you can get for now. And with SCR, NHSCC and Beaverun low key (run by SCR) there are usually 30 events locally. I haven’t been doing many NHSCC events this year, but we do have 3 SCR events left this year, 9/25, 10/8 and 10/9. If you make it out to any SCR events be sure to look me up. Also, there is another Beaverun Low Key this Friday.

haha BSP is fine with me as long as i can run i dont care what class I'm in! Who's usually the fastest at north park in that class?? and haha you'll win hands down!! But it will be nice to see how far im off with my driving compared to you and will be a nice way to learn!

i'm really not that fast, but i am also not above loosening bolts and letting air out of tires if the situation requires it.
Josh, I will not be able to make it Friday because of my work schedule, but Kristi should be there and will be able to help you out. Justin Rothermel was the other BSP driver, but he decided to sell his car and take a year off from racing. Right now Kristi and I are the only ones actively running in BSP.
re:
bsp is a trap! lol
R-Comps are allowed, so be careful.
a tune will put you into SMS, non-tune with 245s and you may be able to get away with STU, but I think you are fairly modded, so it's going to be SMS or BSP.
Also, if you decide to go with RE-11s or something pricier in the 265/275 18 sizing, you end up paying over $300/tire, which is close enough to R-Comp costs that you may want to consider going that route with a second set of wheels for BSP.

unless they changed the rules recently? SMS is one of the newer classes, right?
