Welcome to the club and the area. We have a scheduled meet for next month. Hopefully you can make it out.

So after fixing the boost leak, should I turn down my boost before doing any test runs?

welcome the the thread pewpew.

we're getting quite a few X's now a days. as dave would say "that's fancy!"

metal, i would probably turn it down a bit then work it back up. better to err on the side of caution and re-adjust it from low to high than the other way around in my opinion.

Got everything together and tested today. No dice. Must be another massive leak somewhere. Gonna have to figure out another test setup.

i've heard anecdotal reports of boost leaks only occurring when the engine rocks on the mounts under acceleration. perhaps that's why it has been hard to track down.

That would make it nearly impossible to track down. My only hope is that my little tire pump that I had could not put enough air through the system in order to hear any leaks further down the trail. Working on an adapter to hook up to an air compressor to put more air through the system. Hope that narrows it down. If not, I'm not sure what I'm going to do (besides pull my hair out).

Yeah u need an air compressor to do it proper......watch your boost gauge as you pressurize the charge system and go a few psi past what you run for peak boost and then stop and start listening for leaks. It sometimes takes a few rounds to get them all fixed.

Usually for every one you fix - 3 more pop up

What kind of clamps do u run?

t-bolts or worm clamps? or a combination of both

a boost leak tester is very simple to make - how are you trying to do it?

here is a good old dsm how-to:

http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html

I do it different than this but the concept and construction is the same

Maybe it's me, but finding something close to 84mm for the FP Black seems like a challenge.

Both types of clamps.
