I shipped my bare block to RED for sleeving in a plastic bin and it cost me $60 with insurance. I used about $30 in forming foam packing. So about $90 total.
Not sure the difference in weight yours being AL block and mine iron. Regardless, I think the biggest factor here was simply the distance since mine had to go literally across the country. Oh well

Yea, I don't remember the shipping weight. I do know my 4B cylinder head sans cams but everything else was 47lbs packed.

Bare aluminum block is much lighter. Easier to ship. I'm not sure those totes could handle the weight of an iron black.
You have allot more perseverance with cars then I do. Glad you kept it though. Of course being a clean Kalifornia car you might get more back east if you ever do decide to sell.

Well....on it's way to you kinda implies that . Like I said it's a clean Kali car and it
should get better offers around the NJ area. Take it out for a track day out there...gap everybody...then hang a for sale sign on it.
