Thought this was a neat picture. I had to remove the motor for adapter plate realignment and dowel placement. While the motor was out, I decided to modify the plates. Now, if I need to inspect the motor, I dont have to pull the entire transmission assembly as well.
Driving this thing must be so unique! Not having to put the clutch in or go to neutral during traffic stops. Perfect launching every time without wearing out the clutch, but with the fun of shifting a manual while moving.

I wish I could confirm that characterization with first hand accounts, but I'm still awaiting the DMV to handle their paperwork. It is likely that first gear will not be used. Even at 40% power, I use second for manuevering around the driveway and garage. Other than that, I anticipate the driving experience to be exactly what you describe.
Taking a Break from Design & Fabrication I was hitting a wall with design solutions, so I've turned my focus elsewhere.
It has been bothering me that the car is four colors: graphite gray, apex silver, wicked white, and unpainted black plastic. I considered having the car wrapped in vinyl, but after a few quotes in the $2k neighborhood (just for labor) I thought I should at least give it a try. The passenger fender seemed an ideal candidate for testing. Some of the fender's imperfections are still noticable, but overall I think it was an improvement.
Set-back, number... ah forget it Fortunately this is one of the last possible construction setbacks, since I only have 2 things left to build.
I finally decided to follow through with one of my designs for charger and BMS mounting. Unfortunately, I found that my charger had been heavily damaged during shipping. I sent it back to the manufacturer for repairs and should have it back in 2 weeks. I'm also getting a J1772 receptacle so I can 'fill up' at public EV charge points as soon as I hit the road.
Cell tap validator tool in action. It confirmed that I properly wired all 48 pairs of cells (bank 4 not shown in pic)
Current state of the trunk. I made a spare tire cover/trunk floor, but its obscured by all the wires. I'm looking forward to trimming, tucking, and cleaning the trunk once everything is installed. The BMS is now fully integrated with the pack. The next step is to establish a bluetooth connection with my tablet for the purpose of monitoring the pack from the driving position.
List update: 4-5 hours of construction before its road-worthy. Unfortunately, I have to wait for my charger in order to complete the pack enclosure.
