Love the thread, thanks for all the detail. You kinda made me consider that a RED could be more than a laggy dyno queen. The on-track acceleration is really amazing.

Might you have results for any of that intake manifold testing that you could share?

Thanks man! I'm very picky and the red has great response for street/track duties. I did test the intakes and the skunk 2 is worth about 20whp above 7500 or so at 500whp on stock cams. However, the skunk 2 and 65mm TB lose a little bit of response on the street . I didn't see any difference in the ported stocker at that level over the unported stock manifold. I would hope on a larger turbocharger or better flowing setup that a ported manifold would pick up .

Swapped tires and slid around a small auto cross course yesterday. It was blistering hot but still had some fun. Turned it down to 25psi or so. I had FTD until a prepped corvette that wins everything beat me. I also passed 99K a mile from the Daytona speedway so that was ironic.

Sidenote, Toyo RA-1 tires don't grip very well. A set of RE71's would be a huge improvement.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been reading about 65mm + ported stocker for ages and claims range from 0-8 to 15 to 20 WHP for mild builds.

Seems like most of the time it's 0-8...

really enjoyed the thread! I don't know how you keep the car so clean... I could not find any defects on your front bumper as I watched all the vids... maybe it's just cause its GG and it hides better than other color.

Like everyone else said... nice progression route and you are enjoying the car for what it was really made for.

I wax it a few times a year but its not perfect. Its got some track/rock chips here and there. I'm pretty happy with the GG color.

Thanks!

Car has been running well and there was a charity Breast cancer event at the local drag strip. Put the car on the rollers in 70' degree weather and ran 30-34psi on 81% ethanol.
The car made 625/485,586/466, 612/462. Its made 500tq before in the midrange at higher boost so this was just a checkup before the event. It may make more power/tq at lower rpm but I'm happy with the way the car performs.

I drove the car to the track the next day on my 255-40-17 Continental Extreme DW and launched at 7-10psi . Clicked off a few 1.7's and ran against a stock block 6266 making 630whp. He ran a 10.7@132 that morning but with a QM clutch the launch window for perfection is smaller then the gap on most spark plugs.
After reviewing my logs, the car was struggling to make 30-31 psi and falling and increasing the duty cycle wasn't helping. It was 80-85' outside and the car has no problem making 35psi plus when its 60' or colder. In a perfect world and more boost the car would be able to go faster .

First pass off the street was 10.8@132 going 101.86 in the 1/8. Then botched the launch on the second run and went 11.0@132, last pass was 10.9@128 but I missed 4th. Overall I'm really happy with the cars performance since I'm able to do anything with it and its got a quiet clutch that drives well. It was crossing in 4th around 7200 with the 4.11 final drive
