Picked up a set of SSB front LCAs for black Friday. Got them installed today. Got my design done for the rear upper control arm and shock mount spherical bearings. Need to get those made soon so i can throw them back on with the new rear uprights and finish up the splined swaybar I'm building. Steady as she goes.
Yea it was a pretty big waste for me as well but working from home is nice as it saves me 10-15 hours every week not having to commute. Unfortunately I recently found out my friend whose house I'm keeping the evo at right now is looking to move in the spring so it may not run this year either. Starting to save for a house now too so have to be smart with where i'm putting my money.
If you thought the Evo was a money pit, just wait until you own a home.
Seriously though, hope you find something quickly. Are you planning to stay in Detroit long term?
Oh believe me, I'm not keen on home ownership at all, but at this point I need space. Especially if I want to start growing the side business.
I won't be in the market for probably another year most likely so I'm not in any rush. I'm actually looking to move South down to the Greenville SC area. Everything is contingent upon my work situation so for the moment I'm just saving money and seeing how things play out.
Speaking of saving money. I bought another seat hahaha. Stumbled across a deal on this Racetech 4009HR last week and couldn't pass it up. Was eyeballing a new one of these last year to replace my current 4009 (non halo) but I wasn't keen on spending $1400 for it. Seller had it listed at $250 plus shipping which was another $100 but I couldn't be happier. A bit rough around the edges and the cover has seen better days but a thorough cleaning and some buff n polish on the backside went a long way and it looks way better now.
I joke, but home ownership isn't all that bad. It's nice to be able to modify the house however you want. Buying a home does make it harder and more expensive to relocate later, though.
Hopefully the housing market improves by the time you're ready to buy. Around here there are barely any houses on the market. No one is eager to move or show their house during peak COVID.
I could definitely use more space haha. There seems to be a fair amount of properties for sale in the Greenville area but I certainly don't think now is the time to buy. All of the properties I've looked at have exploded and gone up $50-100k in the past year so I'm hoping prices go back to being where the were.
I'm also entertaining the idea of getting a lot with a few acres and a small house for cheap and building a shop on it but that'd be a significant amount of work.
Almost done converting all my charge pipes to Vibrant HD clamps so I no longer have to worry about losing charge pipe couplers on track and taking apart the pipes won't require tools anymore. Pretty happy with how well it's gone thus far. Only have to make my compressor outlet pipe and that's all done.
I also got my SSB rear knuckles all installed. Still waiting on my coils to get back from being rebuilt to toss those back on and have to make a bushing for the shock mount still. I also finally finished test fitting my new oil cooler setup. Super pleased with how it's turning out. This setup is exactly what I outlined above, 10 row power steering cooler on top, 25 row oil cooler on bottom. Center mounted behind the intercooler and mounts up to existing threaded holes in the core support. Still waiting on some fittings to arrive to start running lines but it's looking very promising at the moment.
If you get a chance, can you share the dimensions for that ducting? Wonder if it'd work on my oil cooler as its a similar size to your 2 stacked cooler setup.

You mean the brackets? The dimensions aren't really straightforward and depending on bend radius will determine where things end up. I had a few sets made, if you want to buy a set and give them a shot let me know. I believe if you have a 35 row cooler these should work. If they don't you can send em back.
Ahh, yes. The waterfall duct is still super early on in the development process so the dimensions aren't accurate enough for use yet. It'll probably be later in the year until I get around to having it prototyped.
Took some time to fancy up my CAE shifter with a coined finished. Topped it off with a knock off Ralliart knob which I'm liking a lot. Finishing up the new cable setup for it as well which is something I'll be looking to offer as a future product now that the OEM 5 speed cables are NLA.
Finally mounted the wink mirror I've been sitting on for the past 4 months. I used to have a clip on wide lens mirror over the stock mirror but whenever I'd go over track curbing it'd flip down and be useless so I decided to ditch that all together and grab one of these wink mirrors. Solidly mounted to the cage so no chance of moving and leaves no blind spot, it's actually hilarious how much I can see out of it.
