Update 5/2/2022:
  • Rebuilt and installed rear axle's. Fixed my clicking issue
  • Replaced Haltech WB 02 sensor, not sure how/why it died but it only lasted <500 miles
  • Installed Haltech 4x2 Can Hub and will handle the following:
    • Rolling Anti Lag
    • Hi boost/Low boost
    • Launch RPM(5,5.5,6,6.5k)
  • Ordered a set of DBA rotors and DS2500 pads, going to install that during the week
  • Waiting on a final Tune day from the tuner.

Got a set rebuilt and when to install it last night and the C-clip came out and damaged the axle seal on the diff....Can't win. I really hope this fixes my issue as it would suck if my diff is bad, was rebuilt 3 years ago and has about 3k miles on it. Order new C-clips and axle seal, should have it mid week and try again.
I am hearing a clicking sound from my driver side rear when i slow down or drive slow, going to get it on a lift and check. Wondering after reading this if its the axle also. How much it cost to rebuild ?

It was $120/axle, the only thing I'd recommend buying from the dealer is the axle C-clips. The generic one the shop installed wasn't the right size. Night and day difference between a 120k mil axle and a fresh one. I was trying to hunt down the insaneshaft rear's but no one could get in contact with IS(Realstreet, ect)

well, it didn't go well and might part the car out
  • The car popped off the hose going to the coolant overflow tank(wasnt secured), once I installed a clamp it didn't pop back off.
  • Coolant temp is hitting 210d and radiator fan isn't turning on, only AC fan. Need to figure that out, maybe.
  • Radiator hose(top/bottom) are extremely pressurized when temps hit 200-210.
  • It's not pushing coolant into the over flow, doesn't have any sign of coolant mixing with oil. We rechecked head torque specs and it was at 105ftlb.

Going to do a compression test, leak down test, and order the head gasket test kit. I'm not sure if the rad fan not working will cause the high coolant pressure. Got a koyo rad with 1.3bar cap.
If the HG went to ****, I'll mostly likely part the car out and move on to another platform.

Car made 650/500tq(ish) on 33psi with e75. had 26psi around 5k rpm.

I had to mess with the Fan settings to get my Coolant fans to work properly when I installed the Elite 1500 in my car.

Yeah I had same problem. I had to figure out how to set it up and make it work on mine then the relay went bad on me. I just got wired it so it's always on when the car is on till I can get another relay.

Why couldn't you get it directly from insane shaft themselves ?

It sounds like the relay to the coolant fan is bad, and u may have ur thermostat stuck closed. Breath brother breath I am sure it's the little **** you didn't think of putting it back together.

I had the same thing happen with my coolant hoses in my stealth and sure as **** it was my thermostat stuck closed. So at least that would fix one problem.

I'll try those options cursed. I'm trying to stay positive. I did order a HG test kit also, just in case.

My Game plan,
  • Compression test
  • HG test kit
  • OEM rad cap
  • Fan Relay
  • Thermostat
  • re-bleed the coolant system

I'll report back once I find out more.

I know its frustrating specially when you get it all together and get to the dyno. Now you run into a problem and its like **** not again. I hate to think you have to spend more money on **** to fix simple problems being it all adds up in the end, but like I said earlier your in the home stretch. I mean its not like you put an ignition system in the car and you ended up eating a 4500 mile engine (looks around yep it was me). Hopefully this stuff will be the end and you can get her back to the dyno to make some good power soon. Keep your head up buddy I know its hard sometimes.
