In my defense I never said anything in my initial post regarding "paint". I also never said anything regarding light. FP yellow sounds better than FP Brown though....

Got mine last week as well, they said it was going to be a few weeks for mine because of the coating but it was coated and ported and came in earlier than anticipated.

I have quite a few more parts needed to be purchased for my build before installing it.

Best of luck

Mind sharing some pics? Was considering getting the coating and porting done as well. I got the cast manifold uncoated which i'm kinda regretting.

Skip the porting from FP, it's minimal gasket matching at best. If you want it ported, send the housing to Curt Brown once you get it. Do the same for your mani.

If you have your own done, I got mine ported and coated for $90 @ SoCal Porting. I wasn't caring about the porting, so much as the coating.

No idea if there will be a boost creep issue on this turbo but the Red did have creep issues on a stock evo 9 engine . Hondaguy and myself had to remove the turbo and port the entry to the wastegate flapper to correct it. Might not be a bad idea to do it, it should provide better boost control overall.

Mine doesn't/didn't creep. With a 25psi wga, it held 20psi flat on the gate. Maybe it's a case by case thing? I'm sure the cams help.

Cams would help the engine breath better so less chance of an issue.

Stock cams and mivec were the common denominator in our case.

Just seems like a good idea on a twin scroll housing to port it so that the ability to control boost is better.

I was wondering where, on the housing, FP does port work. Now I can see exactly where. Interesting and cool to know.
