Looks like mine is more or less the same. I figure for $90, I got a coated housing with a bit of free porting LOL.
Kaj i like that coating on your housing better. Appears to have more of a matte finish. Were you able to spec that color at Socal porting? What does it cost for just the coating alone?
Plus, It's ported, then coated. Not sure if that really means much. Anyway, he does silver too, but i needed black because Kalifornia.

$180 > $250.
MAP makes a feed line kit for $140-150, but I didn't like the filter they use.
No way was I paying $250 LOL. It took a while, but I sourced my own parts and made a few extras, while I was at it. I did use their filter housing, though, since I feel I can trust it.

What would the driving characteristics be like with this turbo on stock block and e85 compared to the BB green or the BB red? I am ready to ditch my stock turbo after 120k miles with my car... I am currently on full bolt ons (stock intake pipe and BOV) and Cosworth M2 cams/ head studs making 404 awhp. is 500hp+ attainable if i drop this turbo in? id probably go speed density and walbro 450 (if double pumper is overkill), and im sure my FIC 1050 will hold up
The pics don't do it justice because the dark coating hides a lot of the work.
If you look inside the hotside, Ruben at SoCal Porting does way more than a gasket match. He ports the hell out of the inside of the turbine paying special attention to how the inside area relates to the wastegate holes. Pretty phenominal job if you ask me.

All I know is the flat black looks sexy.
I work for the parent company Edelbrock and Russell is next door. I asked my fellow engineer and he thinks we can piece this together for way cheap. Might come up with something better as well. Just have some concerns about this inline filter setup.

Would rather pay $180 than $250 so 180 is greater. lol
