I have an interest in getting one of these REDS on my car in the next month or so, but I ain't waiting in no stinking line for you to send me one. Why? HAHA because I got one you sent me already, sitting right here on my desk Pretty! Plus, it spins by itself. I have to tie it down, so it doesn't fly off.

Just need the time to bolt that sucker on, and go looking for some other cars to compare gas mileage with...

Hmm, that pic shows Tom as having a single flapper on the green, whereas my Green is a double. Were there different versions?

Yeah, depending on what core or O2 housing was used.

My understanding is that if you sent in an OEM VIII turbo for the Green upgrade, then you got back a Green with your smaller VIII compressor cover and a 9.8 twin-flapper hotside unless you paid for the 10.5 hotside ($295)

The 10.5 is available as a single or twin flapper though, so just because you have a twin doesn't mean you have a 9.8. It's a pain in the anus for sure.

The only thing I didn't like about the double flapper was that it doubled the amount of welding I had to do. JUST KIDDING, sheeesh, a guy can't even kid on the threads anymore. (Thought I'd say that before the questions started, just to get it out of the way).

on a serious note...does anyone consider clipping turbine fins to allow some exhaust to get around the wheel at the expense of spoolup since these small frame turbos are pretty choked up? it used to be common practice ages ago.

When we made the new turbine wheel, we made it with a clip angle in it already. The new turbine wheel is about 8mm larger than the one in the Green model turbo, and a better aero. Turbine pressure took a HUGE drop as a result.
