It would have been nice to see ya out there. There's 2 guys down here in FL that will have a pretty nasty 6262 setup in a couple of weeks and out terrorizing the streets.

yeah, I would have loved to make it out, but priorities man.... priorities ;-)

Btw, I was down in Pcola earlier this year, made it out to bayfront. I may have met you down there, although I don't remember anyone with a red. I'm the guy with the wastegate through the hood. I parked with quite a few other evo's, so I'm sure SOMEONE down there remembers me.

I'll definitely hit you up next time I'm down there. My parents live in Gulf Breeze, so since my wife and I are trying for a kid, (we're actually having to try if you know what I mean) and if she's preggers this time through, I'll be telling the rents by pulling up to their house with a recaro babyseat in the back

hopefully by then I'll have my meth controller installed, so I'll just be waiting on a tune to go get retarded myself.

Well I was out of town until March so I probably wasn't around. And I didn't have the red on until late March. Gulf Breeze is just around the corner from me and good luck with the kid! Recaro babyseat FTW! haha

thanks man, I'm planning on being down sometime around fathers day, although I may end up in foley for the balloon festival.

If you guys are feeling froggy, you should treck up to nashville for Import alliance in july. I've got a place to crash here in Bham so you wouldn't have to drive it all at once.

we definitely need to rep some evo's there, so many honda's and nissans....

I think I could of ran alot faster, got some serious knock in 4th gear. Just pulled my fuel pump filter it has so much dirt in it, that explains the leaning out issue now and the extreme whine sound during a long highway drive. Its my fault should of retuned my car a few days in advance not during the event.
Ah ok then. When I checked the standings I was ahead of you by like... .0 something, but that was before the 3rd qualifying pass. Hm... loud pump and dirty filter, might be something I need to check myself, mine is talking to me. I was messing with mine the whole afternoon, I should have probably left it alone.

I didn't do it for the money either (I didn't even know semi-finals got anything until after the fact), the cost to run is close enough that while you're in there why not, thats the point I was trying to make.

If you wanna run a fast time tho, late october/november on a friday night is the time to show up, not late may when your tires start melting into the asphalt

I'd love to, cept that its 5 minutes from my front door to MMP, and about 2.5 hours to steele

Depending on what it looks like friday, I might go out and see if I can learn something about why the car rolls over in 4th gear. It has been suggested by the p.o. that I try a stiffer spring in the cbv, i'll probably start there. I turned the boost up sunday until I got to around 370 load, but the car never got any faster (an indicated 30psi on the gauge, however I don't have a lot of faith in the accuracy of the gauge). picked up the occasional 2-3 count of knock in 4th, and an average of 1 count on the flat shifts, so I dunno. Walker laughed when I told him what cams were in the car, but I'm not convinced that that's the only thing killing the top end... it feels just as fast in 4th on race gas with a ****load of boost as it did on pump gas at about 22-23. So either my race gas went stale after I pumped it out of the volvo, or something else is going on that doesn't show up as a red flag in the datalogs.

And then there's the whole loose nut behind the wheel issue

evoWWrs, I would appreciate it if you have one. Im really afraid that the dealer is going to send me the wrong one, and if they do, then the search is on again. I can send you the money for whatever shipping costs. If you find one, just PM, and I'll send you my address. As for now, Im about to take my wife to have her wisdom teeth out, so it should be a real fun day!

well linux!! a 264 cam is BARELY larger then stock... i would honestly go with a bigger car, you have a big turbo, trying to flow alot, but your head is restricting it!!! if you want to stay with hks you can do the 280 with no springs and retainers, or do the kelford 272s, NEVER EVER go wrong there!!

try playing with your NLTS as well, playing with different loads and what not that might help a bit as well... add some timing, more boost doesnt nessicarily mean more power!! you just have to find where your car is making the most and play with some other thigns!! oh and ditch the EBC and get a manual!!!!!

man i missed a bunch of post yesterday! you drag racers are a bit too serious for my taste. LOL it's all just a game, just a race no life or death situation.

sorry more of us didn't come down but most of the Evos i know are not really into drag racing, more autox and track days. plus we had an event the day before. maybe next year we can make it down and chill out with you guys if it's possible to chill.
