Was not testing done with a ZT-2 on your car?

Question

I am sorry if this is a redundant question, but have not been able to really find an answer..

If I understand the "autotune" correctly it has the ability to make changes based on changing parameters it encounters. However, Shiv said he did not want the software to have to make dramatic changes, this was the reason for the baseline tune. This was to get it "in the ballpark", so that only smaller autotune changes were needed. I currently have a Shiv custom tune on a V360 setup and am going to add cams this month to bump it to a V390. Do I really need another custom tune, or would it be just as effective to go with a canned V390 map and let autotune do its thing from there on?

It was done with both the ZT-2 and the Autronic unit on my Dyno just to ensure that it will work with any wideband. And it will. But the adaptive fuel maps (which I calibrated myself) will be widebands specific due to differences in calibration. At first, we will commit to only one wideband (and calibration) to keep things simple and free of complication. Maybe, eventually, we'll release calibration info for other systems but we will have our work cut out for us as it is. There is still another 15-20hrs of fuel calibration work left for me to do. I really dont want to replicate this work more than once in the near future. The calibration menus will be user configurable if one choses to take the work on by themselves.

will these wideband sensors have some sort of gauge or display?

I'd suggest running a v390 baseline map with the active fuel/timing. It's really that powerful.

Shiv, will the fact that I have water injection or that I may be playing with a methanol/water mixture in the future be a problem with the adaptive features?

It will be displayed in the a newly revised XMAP screen which will look something like this (rough design sketch)

I am sure we can offer installs for this system during the weekend

yeah, and I want to be one of the ones on the list for this when it comes around. I missed out on getting on the list for the last dyno days so I am still currently stuck at v2. I feel left out.

V2 is still good enough for me. I am still on V2 as I do not want to mess with a perfectly tuned car.

Is the active timing concept only usable on timing-limited engines (highly boosted); engines where timing is always retarded from MBT?

In other words a normally aspirated V8 can easily operate at MBT timing without a hint of knock activity. If the active timing/tuning was applied to the V8, what would prevent it from continually adding advance well past MBT?

Conceptually this system seems promising...

How do I get on the hardware waiting list?
