Looks like everyone in TX wants to keep the widebands they have I am in Austin. I honestly don't think it's any more difficult than defining the specs from each brand in the software and then making sure the system is matched to what the controller is sending (offset). If the ECU+ can do it for less than half (or 1/3) the price, well, maybe that's just enough said right there...

H-town here , I love my Zetronix Zt-2 and I sure want to be able to use it with the new autotune feature.

As much as I would like the autotune feature to use every wideband available, I would also like to see it released sometime soon. That's alot of work to go through and calibrate every available wideband.

Now a technical question. How much adjustment is the dynamic timing going to have? What's the range? Will it adjust enough for a bad tank of gas or 87oct?

shiv only allows it a short leash... 87 is way too low for evo boost. i doubt the auto optimizing software would be able to compensate for that low an octane.

Yeah, I still want a low-octane map ... something that basically runs minimal boost for those times when you're in the middle of nowhere and all that is available is 87...

Stay off boost and 87 will work. I have run my ex c-16 map on 91 oct 400 + miles. Don't ask me why but believe me I was on my c-16 map and I even had to climb some hills (grapevine on that drive). Car ran okay and compression check was okay. Al used to do it all the time from what I remember. Just don't race anybody. That damn pesky Mach 1 that wanted some really p issed me off. I got owned on that trip.

As discussed in the SoCal dyno day thread, we are in the process of changing the way we do things. I would like to slowly shift away from tuning cars towards showing YOU how to tune YOUR car. With the adaptive features, this is finally feasible... even to those who have no prior tuning experience and no (or limited) access to dynos. So instead of me tuning 10 cars/day for 2-3 days in a row, I would like to tune fewer and use the time left over to conduct a tuning clinic/demonstration for those who want to learn how to tune. We'll try this format out in Socal and see how it works.

How does everyone feel about this?

Cheers,

Race gas effects O2 sensor life right? Does run meth inj. have any effect on O2 sensor life?

I hardly doubt alk injection would have any effect on 02 sensor life, being that it is injected into the air mixture, at which point it should ideally evaporate. I could be wrong but I really don't think it will.

I really don't see how it would be very time consuming at all...maybe a few hours to enter info from a couple of different controllers? All we're talking about here is populating one table per wb controller with known data. These tables are 2 cols (assuming gas only) by maybe 30-35 rows where x UEGO voltage = x:1 AFR as defined by the controller. That's it. In fact, here's the data for AEM UEGO gauge. Add it to a table in the software, done.

And I am not talking about every wb out there...just the more popular ones that people would already run: AEM gauge, PLX, Innovative, Zeitronix. A lot of Evo owners who tune themselves already have widebands and will find it extremely annoying to have to buy another after already spending ~$400 + time installing (and more $$ if they didn't do it themselves). I personally would wait a couple of extra days on availability if I was able to run the wideband I already had installed...
