Utah Evos
well i like to launch my car close to the rev limiter when i'm racing. key is not to feather the clutch at all. the times i did boy did i burn the **** bad. it stunk like a son of bia... when i say racing, no not street racing...i'm too old for that. it's when i can launch it hard when i'm staged during autoxing. as long as the starts a straight line. big track stuff there is no reason to abuse the clutch. my last evo was bone stock cept for suspension. clutch was gone at 10k. lost it during an event at dover. dover was just a bad place for old yellar. lost the turbo there too. jake if you're worried about the clutch i can drive it and tell you what i think. when my clutch went out i knew it was coming. i just didn't think it was gonna completely go away just at dover but that day i think we launched at 6500 about 10 times b4 it went bye bye.
anyway it may be a good idea to have it checked b4 you guys go to spring mountain. you guys don't have the best of luck when youre doing those kinda things.
btw took the wing of my car the other day. looks silly!
can't wait for the new rice replacement to come in.

...and sometime id like u to check it out Ray...maybe...before spring mountain for sure...driving home from Vegas with 5% clutch would suck

I just purchased my evo, and I live in utah so I thought I'd post a quick message. Does altitude affect our cars that much? I raced a new Chrysler 300 hemi yesterday and got my as s handed to me. It does a 0 to 60 in 6 seconds, but we should still be faster right?

Altitude effects a naturally aspirated car like the 300 much much than our cars. Did you race from a roll, what gear were you in? You were probally out of your powerband, you should kill a 300.
What city are you in? and welcome.
