that "super evo" got a gt35r too! if he keeps letting people from orem touch it it will never be fast! i'm getting a standard bearing 60trim from rnr so this spring will be interesting.(money is what talks and i don't have alot but i'll see what my budget racer will do)
isn't it sad my pathetic 13.05 is still one of the fastest put down by a evo.(in slc)
who had the white evo out there with exhaust?

Ha ha,

that was a fun pull on the freeway, I was messing with my pump map, and was only on 16psi. The car has a bunch more stuff than what you read in the post. We were just trying to get things working after installing the new turbo, ams' gt35rl kit.

I never did hit anything lower than a 14 on friday, I need to learn to launch the twin disc. I guess between it being my first time launching the car with the new setup, and my first time at a tree, i royally screwed it up. My second run resulted with the car popping out of gear again like the first, and me runing a 14.3 at 116.7, decent trap speeds, but horrible driving. I'm going to go to vegas in october, probably the 10th, and the 22nd, I need to get at least a high 11sec pass.

So for now, it seems as though Zach is the fastest evo on the track in utah(takes a knee to bow)

Anyhow, I think we should all get together sometime, maybe do a barbecue or something,

later

(laptop on passengers lap).

We were in the modified WRB WRX. Was that any of you guys in here? If so, what all has been done to that EVO? We were both impressed.

Yeah I saw on SLCSR that Russ is building the guys motor(down in Orem)... Russ was the one who blew up the stock motor with his "tuning". The white car was Ben, bbbwrx. He was rockin his UTEC out there on mild settings.

Pat. I called you once to talk about your blue car. I ended up passing on it, I wonder who bought it, I've never seen it around or heard from the guy on here. What's the story on your eclipse? We don't get together very often, we struggle.

Zach, do you know any place to get a good "magnaflow like" muffler? I need a good cheap place to get my exhaust parts so I can weld them all together. I talked to the guys at Dr. Gas, they seem to have the best selection of seamless tubing, and they can mandrell bend stuff if I want. I may have them bend me some tubing, I'm not sure yet.

jid2.
The story about my eclipse is that it is in a garage. I am waiting for it to get a little tuning done and some electrical. I am glad that you have passed up on my car. I am so damn pissed that I had to get rid of it. But I will soon get one again.

are you wanting to go straight out the back or sideways! because to tell you the truth making yourself something might seem like a good deal but after all the time you put into just by a helix catback for 440 or whatever! but whatever floats your boat have fun bending, fitting, putting hangers in the right places ect. if you are going that route i heard you can knock out all the **** in the stock muffler for the sleeper look!

ben, good times did you smell much clutch after the launch? i didn't smell anything when i went 13.2 @ 104 but when my trap started moving up to 106-107 clutch here i come!

patsevo8 what did the shop do to your evo? who was it? phantom? if so i heard they just blew up some kids srt-4 by leaning the **** out of his afc & of course he had probably 100 degrees of timing advance so kaboom!

Nope no clutch smell. I have a ss clutch line and took out the restrictor. Made the launch perfect. If you want a Exedy clutch i know liberty2000 is selling a hyper single. Or I can get you a deal on one. I wouldn't mind showing you the UTEC it is freaking cool. Hit me up sometime after wed and I will be able to meet up and show it to you.

I change my mind all the time about the exhaust. I'll go out kinda sideways, I don't care. I have been thinking that the full catback may be more work than I want. Maybe I'll just do an axle back and replace the muffler and bolt up the new one to the existing flange, like the buschur axle back. That will save me time and money. My wife hates me spending money on the Evo, so if I can spend less money and then put in a lot of my time I can swing things. That's why I was willing to build the catback myself.

From what pat told me about his old car Phantom screwed it up royally. They had his car for almost a month, just to do an AFC, some gauges, and an N-tercooler spray kit. He thought they screwed something up. It didn't run well, they did the DSM MAF mod to it and Modern had to rework it to get it to run. He sold it and Ken Garff downtown had it in their showroom all winter.

I had Phantom work on my old EVO and like jid2 said. They f--- my whole ECU up. They had my leaned out so bad it wasn't even funny to joke about it. Then they had it way to rich were I was blowing smoke out of my exhaust blacker than that of a diesel with mods to it. Then, when I took it to Modern, they threw it on the dyno and said that I was peaking at a whooping 30 ft/lbs boost. I was like holy sh--- man. Then I had scratches all along my quarter panels from them leaning on my car. They claimed it wasn't them. Another thing they did was take my car for a spin without telling me and blatently lied about it. They said it wasn't them. Well at the time (april 2003) I know for sure that I was the only blue evo in salt lake, and I had dozens of friends tell me they saw my car forsure. I asked them how they knew and they all said "how many blue evo's are in utah and how many of them have the liscence plate RIGHTON?" So I called them on it and they denied the whole damn thing. I asked what the hell was taking so long on my car, there response was that they were to busy. I had the only car in the whole shop at the time. Oh Ya, they also screwed the wiring up with my neon lights that I had bought. The would short out all the time.

SO MY ADVICE TO ALL OF ANY SALT LAKE DSM OWNERS *DON'T GO TO PHANTOM*

What was the deal with the srt-4 at the track on friday? Was that something phantom screwed up as well, or had the owner tried to crank the boost up after they told him not to? I've heard all of the versions of the story, wonder if anyone knows what really happened.
It's too bad phantom can't make customer cars work like they've made jason's car work. That thing flat out hauls!
