if anyone needs help with a cam install i will gladly do it for you!!!
for $288.00 dollars that is well under what it calls for in our labor guide. this would be @ my shop & would take about 1/2 a day to do so plan on leaving your car for a while.

scott, it's 1149 according to their site. http://linux.forcedperformance.net/m...ode=Lancer_EVO

i paid 895 for mine when they had a xmas deal. it wasn't so bad causei basically sold my old turbo for 400. so really only costed 5 hun. i'm willing to bet they keep up with the bushcur 20g thread and seeing that the tme did really well they bumped the price knowing people are gonna want them more.

Ok guys, so I need a verdict here... Will Al's tune help fix the stupid 15 psi boost thing the car keeps setting at? or will I DEFINITLY need a boost controller to fix it at all...? I'm not saying Al's tune will fix it 100%, but... fixing it a little bit would be nice... any other suggestions to fixing it? Would doing the ECU reset batter unplug thing fix it? Trying to get the most out of my exhaust, reliably, while spending the least amount of money.... If I have to choose between the two, which should I get, boost controller, or baseflash by Al?

Oh and to the offer by Zach... to bad everyone that has them or will be getting any soon already has them done Unless Jared wants it done... but that's a great offer... If only I was ALL the way up to getting cams already, and not paranoid about my car breaking

I think your car is leaking boost and neither of those will solve that problem.

I am no expert, but I would guess it is not critical. I would get it looked at when you have a chance. There has to be a reason why your car is putting 2 lbs less boost then mine with similar mods. If you add a boost controller, my guess is, you will still be leaking boost. This will negate the advantage you get from the bc.

It's doin roughly 5 lbs less than your's... you were doing ~20psi most of the time, mine was doing ~15psi MOST of the time, with a few peaks to 16/17... I always wondered why it wasn't hitting hard but still felt fast... I have an N/A style power curve now ... except I still have boost.. and thus, turbo lag, and thus, boost taper... down to... oh yeah, just 15... I wonder if it got a leak the day I thought my clutch was going bad... man, whatever it is, ALL my old questions were answered... Including the feeling of power, then less, than more, then less, then more... Certainly an informative, if not satisfying, dyno day...

jake i'm going to slap the **** out of you!!!!! al's dynoflash does not control boost.
you probably have a boost leak somewhere have your buddy @ modern pressure test your ic pipes.
then get a mbc used for cheap & do the flash. ebc does not make sense for you if you fiddle with your own car you can learn a few things.. it takes a serious issue to blow your motor trust me.

Serious issue? like a stock Evo being driven around a parking lot? Modern seems to be SOOO sure it's not a boost leak, I'll have Mitsu check all the vacuum hoses, they can handle that... And I thought Al's flash helped the boost taper a bit, so I assumed it could control boost a little, but maybe I thought wrong... don't slap the **** out of me, there'd be none left for the toilet! Plus, with an MBC I need a boost gauge, and I need both the MBC and the boost gauge installed...

set your mbc with a guage hooked up then pull the guage off. i'm sure there is someone with one you can borrow.

I don't know but my boost would still taper off to about 17lbs after the flash. Your problem could be a knock issue, get a boost gauge and throw some race gas in there too see if it fixes it. I know with DSMs if the knock sensor detects anything it will retard your timing and lower your boost with the stock bcs. I would think EVOs would be similiar.

I'll have mitsu check for any leaks, and get some t-clamps if there are any... and if there isn't, I suppose I might skip out on the tune and just get a boost controller. And if it ends up like you said Rob, then that'd suck, cuz I can't run on race gas all the time

So, let's assume it's not a leak, and I need a boost controller to get back to 20psi... Which should I do? the baseflash, or a boost controller? Without the baseflash I have money for a fairly nice BC, and enough to pay someone a bit of cash to help install it and help set it... or just the baseflash.
If it's not a leak, and I need a bc, that's at least 25hp by the way I've head each pound of boost is worth 5-7hp...so... A guarenteed 20 from Al or my money back, or an iffy 25-35 from a BC
