unless you stock solenoid is broke? I don't know how you would test that. Mitsubishi should be able to do a real time test on the car to figure out what the stock solenoid is doing. As far as how much boost the ecu is requesting and how much the solenoid is giving the car.
If you go with the baseflash and the stock solenoid is bad than you will be in the same boat as you are now. I would get a cheap BC and see if it fixes it if you can't find a leak.

Jake, I still think there has to be an explenation for the lower boost and adding a bc is not going to solve the base issue. The most obvious cause would be a boost leak, but it could be other things, this needs to be solved not covered up by running a bc.

Dear Jake,

My guess is:

1) Boost leak. Maybe a loose hose clamp, leaky Blow Off Valve.

2) Stock boost control solenoid malfunction. It would take 10 mins to swap yours out and check to see if that is the problem.

Don't get an EBC, waste of money. Get the BaseFlash FOR SURE. You can always put a MBC on after the flash without any problems.

I would look for leaks and test. If all the clamps are tight and the BOV good then move on to the Boost Solenoid. I'm sure you could borrow someones stock BOV to swap out and test. If that doesn't work swap out the Solenoid.

Then test a MBC. If it raises and holds boost you never had a leak, you just lost boost with the exhaust.

I'll be working on my car all day on Saturday, up in Pleasant Grove which is just north of Orem. If you want come down and I'll look at your car.

jake, fyi when i drove your car when i did the coilovers i thought your car wasn't running 100%. it never felt like it got to max boost like my yellow car did. there wasn't a lot of kick to your car. i've always felt you might have a boost leak but never mentioned it to you cause i didn't want you to worry cause you were happy with the car. not really sure if that's the prob but i know by the seat of my pants your car when i drove it last was lacking power. even your first dyno #'s seemed low.

I know Jeremy's evo from Idaho dynoed stock at 193, Jakes at 208, but I know what you are talking about, there was an evo they had in their computer that dynoed at 240 stock? I know that Dyno Jet numbers are usually alot higher than Mustang Dynos.

Anyone looking for a set of HKS Cams, I know someone locally that has a set of 264 in/272 ex combo for sale. Make offer and I will see what he says. He wants 500.00, but I told him he would never get that price.

When I first got my #'s I was a little concerned, but after researching it they were about right for a stock Evo on a mustang dyno. I am not worried using the #'s to see what the mods do anyway, not to get in a pissing match with other people.

Um, I might come down and have you check it out Jared, you'd know what you were looking for better than Mitsu... How long are you gonna be down there, because I think we're going up to Solitude for part of the day? And you have a good point, even if it comes down to it that the problem is requiring a boost controller, I can get a boost controller after the tune and be just fine... But I'll still only be able to get a baseflash...
My numbers were close to what most people say a stock Evo should be doing on a Mustang... like 190-220, is what I've heard

I'll be there for ever. Installing Cams, Headstuds and a fuel pump. Plus an oil change.
