The Ultimate 2009 Ralliart Thread mega merge
I'm not very psyched about the SST now. I know its an auto but I can shift through the 5 gears of my BMW 325i in "Manual" mode. My worry is that just like the BMW, the SST will become a novelty and I'll run in full automatic mode all the time. Then I want to pass someone but the auto is super sluggish in figuring out what I want. I think the SST would be better but I want something that makes me work in full manual mode all the time. Otherwise, youre just driving an "automatic". Plus, I can't heel-toe in an SST which makes driving less fun.
Why do I like Manual? I enjoy driving. That doesn't mean I am racing but I enjoy driving for the sake of driving. I enjoy rowing through the gears, rev matching. I really don't want to lose that. I hope theres a manual option, I really do, even if it means going a hair slower.

You probably wouldn't want to pay what the MR wheels would cost. OEM wheels typically aren't cheap. OEM BBS-made wheels? Even more spendy I'm sure.
Yeah, I'm also hoping they put the manual one on the market, I've been enjoying my 2004 RA stick. But I'm willing to try out the SST, I wonder how similar it is to paddle shifters used by WRC cars. Nonetheless, I think i'm gonna try out the new RA for sure when it comes out next summer.
And a lot of credit to Mitsu throwing in the Recaro seats, although I still think they could a little more creative for the interior. Look at the Civic 2008 Type-R, its interior is just damn good. Too bad it's yet another car not offered in the US any time soon.

Not sure if its posted but this should solve most questions:

Mid $20k for the new RA.

Maybe the interior in Civic looks good, but those seats do not match Recaros in any way. I had the seats from previous Civic Type R and they look good but thats all. Those seem to have a little more support on the sides than previous.
I love those RA Recaros. Must have option.
I just sat in my friends new X and the Recaros are excellent. I would have to say it's a must have for the RA. I'm hoping I can add the Recaros and the HID's to the car without being forced to take other options.
I'm just hopin it hits stateside by June. I'd love to start doing some fiberglasswork on the interior for the summer car shows.
Does any one know when the true sale date is? or are they going to wait till next year like they did with the x last year?
Psh Figures. First they go and finaly unveil the thing. Then they say Oopps its auto but with paddle shifters. Now it Hurry up and wait. They sound like the military.
Lets hope that if they wait that long they decide to atleast give it a manny option.

Mitsu would be dumb not to offer the RA in a manual option. I'm betting it will be the SST only at first and then the 5spd will show up later towards the end of '08. Let's just all hope that the pricing is indeed WRX competitive.
Does the RA include a good amount of stuff as standard? Stuff like A/C, auto windows, bluetooth, FAST keyless and etc? Right now, I'm under the impression that it'll include pretty much everything that the GTS has as standard, with options being the Recaros, navi, sunroof, premium audio and the HID lights.
