Why would I not like it? It's just repetitive crap. Let the cars duke it out in their potential and check back in a couple months. 95% of people who visit these forums and any online automotive forum for that matter want to know about potential and aftermarket parts, not how two stock cars faired against one another in a magazine. So the question is, "updated wrx...what does this mean for the ralliart"???
We've already gotten Road and Tracks input, now lets get some more owners and tuners inputs.

I still don't see why the thread needs to be closed.
If you actually read the thread, people are definitely interested in how the cars compare stock wise. Also, how cars compare with mods isn't useful at all, a civic can beat a Ferrari if you mod it enough so it's a pointless argument.

They are probably only interested in stock performance because that's all that's available right now. A civic to a ferrari? Ok how about comparing cars that are close in stock form, in the same price range, and attract the same type of buyers? And i think comparing mods is MORE useful then stock numbers because majority of these cars will end up modded anyway. Take a look around these forums, EVERY CAR is modded.Originally Posted by ambystom01

They're interested because people don't buy a car that they know they'll have to mod to make them happy, that's just poor decision making. Similarly, most people don't immediately mod a new car, they keep it stock for a few months or a few years and if the car isn't up to snuff in that time, they want to know about it.
Comparing modded cars is a waste of time, it's completely arbitrary. As an obvious example, are we going to compare a modded Ralliart to a modded WRX? Do they have to have the same mods? Can they have different mods but the same money spent?
Actually every car is not modded, there are plenty of stockers out there.

How are you liking the WRX thus far? Since the WRX too has narrow fenders, what kind of tire size are you able to fit in there? Subaru definitely did a good job with it.
I am definetly liking the car. I like the interior of the WRX but I am not able to compare with Ralliart. What I did like about the RA is the center information display.Originally Posted by EsRt2evo
I test drove both and i'll admit the WRX was a more nimble car probably because of its lighter weight and wider tires. But the interior of the Ralliart, i felt, was nicer. The steering wheel felt great, and the transmission was freakin awesome. One thing i'd really like to change though is the wheels and tires on the Ralliart. They just seem too heavy and way too narrow for an AWD turbo vehicle. Once coilovers are released for it i'll probably try and squeeze some 235's-245's under it. How are you liking the WRX thus far? Like I said the WRX had exactly what I wanted; it had sunroof and a decent sound system. What I also like about it is the quiteness of the cabin; I know some reviews said that the Ralliart is a little loud in the cabin compare to WRX.
I haven't really seen what larger size I can go with on the tires but with what it has now it looks very good. What I will be doing in the near future is the SPT catback exhaust.

Post some pics whenever you put some wider rubber on that car. Enjoy the car as I will too

You should be able to run 235 with ease and maybe 245 if you use the right sized rims.

Everything keeps getting better for the new WRX:
This new WRX is fast. Way fast. We tested one earlier this week and the numbers it put out were nothing short of shocking
Quote:
Out at the track, the new and improved WRX launches hard; all four tires spin as the car leaps forward as if it were rear-ended by a bus. A mere 1.6 sec pass before 30 mph is reached, a time on par with the new BMW M3 and Cadillac CTS-v. Sixty mph comes in 4.8 sec, and the five-door, five-passenger hatchback we tested covered a quarter mile in 13.5 sec at 101.1 mph. That's near a second faster than last year's model and just a tenth slower than the 2008 STI. Consider the $10,000 difference between the base WRX and the homologated rally car, and you'll be asking yourself, "STI why?"

What review is that from? Looks like the new WRX is kicking *** and taking names.

So they got .6 faster 0-60 than manufacturer specs. That is EVO IX fast, isn't it?. I drove a new WRX and it is fast, I did not think it was that fast!! Going to test a sedan in the morning. Will be seeing how it fares.

Even STI's and Evo's seem like your not going as fast as you really are. That all changes when you put exhaust on it. Same goes for the WRX. And imagine a Stage 2 WRX which is just turboback exhaust and a reflash of the ecu. Usually they gain 30-40 whpOriginally Posted by dboz
