That might be what they'll have to do or they'll find some other way to ensure that the only way to get evo performance is with an evo (ie. modify the Ralliart suspension enough that you cannot swap with the evo, make the transmission different, etc). I was talking more about putting 275 tires on a street car, the only cars I know with rubber like that are high-end sport cars like the Corvette or Viper.

As for the Evo X they should give it a wider body, put 275mm wide summer tires on it, and give 50 more horsepower.
You might get 28 more hp but count on getting less than what would be the perfect amount for your money.. its the corporate way...

That is why i say the top of the line car should have insane performance to avoid gap closing by the lower end

True but insane performance comes with an insane price tag. The Evo and STIs are pretty damn good with 300 HP, I'm not sure if the extra 100 HP from the factory would be worth the major increase in cost.

That's exactly what I'm talking about.

I don't see anything wrong with 275s on a Evo stock. It makes it better handling wise and safer because of more grip, unless you are driving in mud, snow, deep water, and gravel.

I think your market segment is soo small corporations will seldom spend alot to target you... especially with the economy what it is now.. hence why they tried to take the EVO mass market..

It also makes it noisier, more expensive to maintain, less fuel efficient and harder to drive. I have 235s on my WRX and they can be annoying at times since they'll literally try to follow any and all lines in the road. The difference in grip between the stock 245s and 275s would be marginal compared to other problems. This has come up on NASIOC before and is a major reason why I went for 235s rather than 245s or 255s.

Again true, but the evo and STI got to where they are because of guys like me. If everyone just sat around fussing about rock chips, the evo would be bland like Accords.

You Are right but if they insist on increasing the weight then they need to up the power to keep the "fast feel"! and avoid griping from enthusiasts.

The new Accord looks awesome in two or four door configuration. To me it looks better than the previous Evo and STI and the current STI.

True but the Accord is hardly a performance beast.
