What is the suggestion on Mivec maps with 2.4 high compression engine with Fp black or similiar turbos ? Are you guys runing with full mivec advance until peak boost too ? than tappering as the RPM goes higher ? I will play with the Mivec table and see how the power curve change on Virtual Dyno .

so in my never ending adventures with whatever the hell the previous owner had done to my car...i discovered this bastard of a mivec map.

it appears some what similar to someparts of a jdm map, and seems to look nothing like what people have suggested for tuning...

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. i may just load a regular jdm map.

That doesn't seem so bad, it has high advance for spool and tq, but tapers off by ~6000

Agree, I've definitely seen worse than that.

I just can't figure out the theory behind it compared to what else I've been seeing. I need to see what happens by clearing out the advance at idle and low rpm, as the car isn't that easy to drive in those conditions.

So you guys are basically running full advance until the turbo spools?

Just wondering

I think it was answered.

so i made a little mashup of these two maps. just copy/pasted from 0-80 load of the JDM RS map into the mystery map. figured id keep the top end for now since it seems to be making/holding good power.

the car is now 100 freakin times smoother. SOOO much easier to drive around town, no more messing with the throttle from a stop sign, just a single smooth input, the car no longer feels like its its stumbling between gears, and best part is it no longer tries to stall out when coming to a stop with the a/c on.

the car went from having issues i thought were just "because it was an evo" to driving like a civil car.

thanks to everybody who posted in this thread...i would have never even looked at my mivec map if i hadnt read this thread and had such good insight.

I have a Mivec Map for you guys to analyze.
I bought my car used 2 years ago and it came de-tunned. (supposedly). Im not sure who the tunner was but i have a couple ideas... Anywho, I tried john and Nj mivec map and it felt good but i think this one might feel alittle better. But i want to hear feed back from you guys!

what mods (turbo, boost, etc) do you have?

with my Mivec map which is very similar to yours

i did this pull in 3rd today and she felt good but there are some areas where i need to give some attention to. for some reason my spool has become lean but im actually dropping the 1000cc injectors for 880s. plenty of injector for my setup. than im smoothing out my AFR.

Im surprised our maps are almost identical. Ever been to So. Cal? Who tunned your car?

when i bought the car it came with, GM3 port boost solenoid, Walbro, and de-tunned, I believe is is boosting 21lbs and 20 at redline. Since then i bought IC pipe with air filter, o2 housing, turboback, havent touched boost.

Ive been reading up on tunning and well im going to tune her myself, im just waiting the wideband and boost gauge.

What are you going to do to your 1000cc injectors? Ive been looking for injectors, i want to run e85 since i have a pump like 3 minutes away from me. If you sell them i might be interested if the price is right. Let me know!

Never been to socal. I have had a couple people tune the car but that map I have tweaked myself afterwards. I'm pushing 26psi tapering to 23 by 7k. I'm learning to "tune" myself which is fun for me. I like doing things to my car. Mivec seems to be a little more complex to me compared to timing and fuel. But I'll figure it out

I plan on selling the injectors pm me if your interested.

i need some help with my mivec tables if i could get some good help i would be greatly appricative i recently finished my second 2.4 because i think the mivec helped hill the first one now i just got my second 2.4 started and really dont want to drive it till i get a safe mivec map .

thing is i think i got to much or not enough advance because i didnt know my last tuner didnt chane the mivec tables from my stock tune i now have a 2.4 again with kelford 282s . the bigest thing my last motor tore up when i was heading up a steep incline on interstate in less than 5 lbs of boost it ate 3 of 4 plugs and broke all 4 top rings

I'm not sure if mivec will allow the valvetrain to make contact with pistons. I wonder if your timing was off?
