1000 should be good for 272's.... so what is your timing in your idle cells now ?

you just have to be careful because too much timing brings on the P0300

change your 5's to 7's... then your cell where it is at 1000 rpm and 40 load, change that to 7 as well.... the cells surrounding the 7's change to 9

Bigric09,

Does this help with idling? My car sure is struggling, its at 6* in the cells where your saying to do 7*, so I may try adding 1* to make it 7. Should help shouldn't it?

k done and changed the 1000rpm 9 to 7 and the 1000rpm 50 load from 13 to 7, and the 20's to 15

Right arm I'm going to go test this out I'll post back within the hour

it can... depends on other factors though... idle rpm, vacuum leaks, maf scaling, dirty filters, exhaust leaks around the front O2, injector scaling and latencies... and im sure more im forgetting

O man sorry I was out driving forever and then made a couple hot toddy's cuz I've been sick for a few days and I kinda got buzzed. I need to clean my air filter too but back to subject, over all the car feels really good and have only got a 1 knock count randomly. The idle stays just around 800 which is good right? I don't think I've ever seen my car idle at 1000 unless its cold outside.

Is the 1 count of knock consistent in the same area or is it popping up all over the place in various logs? If it's consistent in one load cell, then I would pull timing in that cell and see if the knock is still there. If it's random knock not consistent throughout the multiple logs, I would attribute it to phantom knock for now... Remember, even 1 count of knock can pull timing. Does the 800 rpm idle bother you at all with the cams? How is drive ability when coming to a stop? Do you have any idle dip when pushing the clutch in? Cam lope etc?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to help you while helping myself...

I just have to give you this for your hard efforts at making it work yourself... Have one on me...

Cheers-
Erich

Drive ability seems good, when I come to a stop there might be a very very slight dip after I've been out pushing the car hard and the 1 knock count isn't consistent so I'm going to count it as phantom right now and keep my eye on it, I'm using tephra's knock cel light mod and will try to log it once or twice a day see how it goes. There is some small idle dip when clutch is pushed in. Cam lope well haha its that 272 lob..lob.lob...lob..lob.lob...lob

The questions aren't dumb it's all good, maybe I should get some video/sound of idle.

if you dont want the lope... raise your actual idle to around 1000. That will help with that somewhat. If you had a IX, id tell you to adjust your mivec, but no chance in that lol. You should have some idle settings that say something to the effect of idle rpm neutral and drive... raise the drive at least if you dont raise the neutral

Yea there is settings the rpm neutral is the automatic evo's haha and the rpm drive is at 1000 but I can't remember where it idled before the injectors? I don't think that high, but its always loped I don't really mind too much it sounds kinda mean, I could set it at 1100 see if it idles at 900? I just don't like the dip like its going to die like when I was backing out of my garage last night.

Funny thing is when I bought the car it had 6k on it and I thought something was off but I was thinking it had to have cams and everyones like its got cams its got cams well after I started throwing on mods hmm maybe it was like 8-9 months later I poped the valve cover off and first thing I saw was the vinshu cam gears and then the stamped hks I was wow hey know

then again alot of ppl with 272's have some issues with cam timing and trying to get the idle good, I can only imagine what the 280's are like
