Post a log, you can't go blindly on that one.
What exactly should i log ? timing ? any enrichment tables ? load? rpm ? tps ? so that this problem gets sorted out.

Cruise timing = Map timing + EGR advance.

42* combined with a leaner AFR seems the consensus for best fuel economy .
15.6:1 for VIII
16.2:1 for IX.
Ok, but how did you come up with 40* closed loop did you hit knock and dropped it down. Im just trying to figure out how did you tune cruise portio, you cant set load cells 10-100 at 40* timing.

Sorry for the delay mate, these two maps are added by the ECU when EGR is activated:

38+4=42

I had no knock, I trusted what the pros use for cruise. I don't know which percentage of fuel I save with that.
Most fuel economy I had was switching to full time open loop, this resulted to at least 5% fuel economy. That's about it.

The loads i have are between 18 to 30 during cruising rpm. The change in lower compression ratio has made the car more economical , on the same map [ign timing and fuel ] . When it had 8.8 compr ratio it gave 6km / liter and now it gives 9km / liter at cruising rpm. The spooling sound is much more crisp. How do i attach a csv file here?

Looking at logs, steady 37-38mph seems to be 27 load in 4th gear. How does yours look like?

I found that I was getting a lot of JERKYNESS on decel, and mivec didnt seem to help the cause. So I started looking at how agressive my timing map was in the decel lowest load regions. Took some timing out there and rounded it a bit seemed to smooth things out better.

From 2000 to 3000 at cruising load, your timing is like 10* lower than a stock evo. Do you have EGR enabled at the very least?

No, but there's probably some middle ground to be had my previous map is identical to this one except that area.. The parking lot lurch has been stupid

I still have some work I guess. Lol I was running 44 at cruise but to get to 44 from 12 at idle the steepness was rattling my brains!
