This is pretty dead on, Good job mate I will say once you do cams you could get away with slightly less timing up top, and I only say this because you have a IX

Invidia DP
3" Straight Pipe Exhaust

Logged 26.6psi peak, 25psi by 7k and 24psi to 8k. 93octane. 396/355 to the wheels on a Mustang Dyno
Is this an 8 or 9? Seems like you could get away with a couple more degrees up top, Im curious how well it holds tQ to redline. Does it die out up top?

What do you guys think about this. Car is an 8 with a 2.4LR 9:1 CR motor with an Evo 8 Head, GSC S3s and an Evo 8 Turbo with 9.5 hotside on E85.

My old setup made 630 on a 62mm and a stock block, so this will be quite the change for me

Just got the new motor installed and started up for the first time yesterday, but haven't driven it yet. I anticipate peak tq being around 4000-4500rpms with the S3s. I could be way off though.

I have evo 8 with evo 9 turbo and 272 cams..
It was running OK but now I have significant power loss, very low AFR and a lot of knocks..

Please tell me something about this tuning

Depends on what load cells you'll be hitting and fuel you're running..

Since it's blocked tuned and a 2.4L, stock turbo on E85 he will easily be past 260 load at WOT, does it matter?

It matters because if he's on speed density, depeding on SD tuning, 28psi could be 300 load, or it could 250 load. I also wasn't sure how much it may or may not taper boost, which would effect how low the load will go out the top. For example, if it hits that 160 load cell at 8k rpm for 27*, that's kind of a lot...lol

It is an 8. I loose 100 wtq by 7500 rpm from peak. It starts around 5900. I think there is too much back pressure with the 9.8 housing I was running with that turbo to add anymore timing and still be reliable on track.

Factory turbo is like an exhaust shut-off valve closing beyond 5k. Esp with S3 cams

Hey guys, I’m new to tuning so let me know what you think.

Mods: 05 Evo 8 SSL, BBK Full ported, S1 cams, tbe with high flow cat, 3.5” fmic, licp, 850cc injectors, walbro 255, 93 oct pump gas.

3rd gear, hits 275 peak load by 3650rpm. 25.5psi peak boost tapering to about 22 by redline. Peak tq at 5500rpm. 5* at peak tq, 12* by 7200rpm. AFRs are high 12s spoolup tapering to 11.0 by redline.

1 or 2 counts of knock in 3500-5k range, some runs are 0 knock.

Best so far was 433/366 VD. Outside temps 43F. Sorry I don’t have boost or afr plot yet, working on that.

Car runs great and pulls hard, but I welcome any feedback. Thanks

Not too bad but timing could definitely use some smoothing out.

We have very similar setups but i'm on the stock turbo. My map is similar to yours but I run about 4* at peak and 11* up top. I just had Ivey install a ported a buschur manifold and wow I can feel the difference already. I"m also in Central NJ if you want to compare notes. I need to retune after the manifold install because I'm running a little leaner above 3500 RPM's.

Thanks for checking it Ian, any specific areas of the map you would suggest?

Thanks Ronaldo, I'm also debating on porting the stock mani or going with a tubular, while porting the IM and tb.

This thread has helped me a ton. Thanks all

I was confused for a second because my real name is Ian lol. I wanted to keep a stock style manifold so I could keep the heat shield. I can honestly say this ported manifold was the best mod I've done and upset I never did it earlier.
