PATCH: KNOCKCEL+NLTS+AltMap (V4)
I do think it is a def issue, I just thought it was interesting because I have not looked at any knock sensor filter tables in a long time.
I'll look at some more roms tonight and see if I can figure anything out. It almost seems like there are two different rom versions both with 94170008 id's. I do know for a fact that I have my 100% untouched rom and a 100% virgin p0300 fix rom (downloaded from my ecu two minutes after mitsu flashed it last year. I just gotta find them.
I just installed 1.34 last night on one of my virtual machines and initially thought it was a def issue, but then I checked on my laptop (1.29) and got the same results.
Did a little more poking around. It looks like my untouched stock rom has the same table values as tephra's 4.2 94170008 rom.
My untouched p0300 fix rom, however, matches my current rom and the image posted before.
So, it looks like def is correct for the p0300 fixed roms, but maybee not for the original stock 94170008 roms.
Can anyone else confirm this by comparing their roms?????

The rom I got last year for p0300 fix has an internal id of 94170015, so it must be the last revision of the p0300 fix. My original is 94170008.
In all versions of ecuflash I have checked (1.29 & 1.34) the defs do not look correct for the knock sensor filter map 1, looks like the table start address is too early and it is picking up the end of another map.
The def for 94170015 look correct.
I don't guess it matters unless one wants to mess with the knock filters, but it is interesting that the defs have been wrong for quite a while now.
Anyway, I will be trying out the v4.2 today

If I select the AltMap, when I have knock, the additional hight oct map switch automatically in the additional low oct map, as with the standard map?
In the standard map, what knock level switch the hight oct map in the low oct?

I think what you are asking is if the alt maps switch from 'high octane' to low octane' the same way the standard maps do? If that is what you are asking, yes the alt maps will switch from high octane to low octane when it sees the same levels of knock that it would with the standard maps.
The ECU usually starts lowering the ignition timing about 1 degree for every 3 counts of knock that it see's. Once the knock level gets excessive, it completely switches to the low octane maps. The Alt Maps do this the same way the standard maps would have.
I hope I didn't misunderstand you.

Yeh the low/hi octane maps work just the same as regular low/hi.
I did it this way so that E85'ers can specify low octane fuelings different to 95oct etc etc..
Interpolation between high/low octane begins when the ECU see's 2 successive counts of 6 knock.

hey tephra,
when you switch to the alt maps, does the switch hold over after the car is shutoff and restarted or is it only during the current running cycle??
Also, would it be possible to add an indicator (flash cell or ics light) on alt map switch to your next release? I used the alt maps this AM and just wasn't very comfortable that the maps had switched. Maybee flash twice when switch to alt maps and once when switch back to default maps.

When I tested the other day I could have sworn that the ics light was flashing when I was on the alt map. I am pretty sure about this.
sweet, i must not have switched today then, I recall the light was on after I held the switch in the auto position for about five or six seconds, so I hit it again one time real quick to get the light to go off, Don't recall seeing the light after that. I'll go play with it now.

yeah obviously the light comes on when you press the auto button - standard evo ecu code there..
but it should flash on/off very slowly once you have enabled alt-maps...

Just went out and tested again. The only options I have turned on are ntls, cel on knock, and alt maps. Map switch time is 3000 ms (3 seconds) and load is set to 110.
Still no luck. held the ics switch in auto position for up to 10 seconds, spray light stays on but never flashes.
IIRC the load set the max load at which you can switch maps correct, as in don't allow map switching if you are over this load value correct??
