yeah I am 99% sure its related to mivec advance+retard + interpolation each way depending on how much retard and advance.
but given the stock maps are basically the same (+/- 1 either side of #2) then I dont think its a big deal.
V5 will be the next release, final testing on my car today. However if everyone agrees to merge 1/2 and 3 then i'll do that and release
differences between V4.2 and V5:
- Boost map switching (BDEL and BWGD)
- Injector Scaling Switching (with the above now provides a faily complete E95 solution
- Map switching using either the AutoICS button (for ICS dudes) OR wiring up a seperate switching (for nonICS dudes + Meth users)
- RearO2 simulator (MrFred's algorithm !!!)
Cheers

Any chance that a new method of switching will emerge for the IX any time soon? I'm just worried that I'll go add stuff to my ECU and then you'll come up with an easier way to switch ...
Who would have thought, the best ECU upgrade for the evos would end up being....the stock ecu! lol I'm gonna feel bad for all of the AEM stand-alone guys. The only reason I see people going to the AEM is the MAF setup for the most part.

no I think we will settle on the wiring the external switch for the IX's without ICS.
It's fairly simple to do and provides a "global solution" for meth users..
right on Jamie

Tephra, will this switch be compatible with the Aquamist HFS-1 and -5? I'm going to be ordering one soon, and would LOVE to help you guys test this.
So if the system is on and active, high boost and alky. Failsafe and boost drops (v5 right?...eventually) and switch to alt map. Power DDS off and the same thing happens. Alky, no alky at the push of a button!

As long as your setup is capable of outputting 5v when everything is "ok" and 0v when something is wrong then it will work just fine.
so yeah you would setup your highboost on the altmap and then a failsafe boost on he standard maps...
Cossie - yours and BarryC's will be the first ROM I do, coz ive been promising for ages todo so

Doubtful, I think the addition of the switch harness is the easiest solution. The IX's don't have much wiggle room here.
Also, I will be offering a universal failsafe control unit which accepts three +12v inputs, three +5v inputs and three ground inputs to trigger the ADC input. That way no matter what alky kit you have, you can have it trigger the alternate maps automatically. This won't be available for at least anohter few weeks though.

Fair Play Nice one Dave
You can set it up either way Teph. You just need to decide whether the ALT maps are you "less aggressive" maps or your "more aggressive" maps. That way it doesn't really matter whether or not the trigger is active when things are 'ok' or if things are in 'failsafe' mode.
