Another thing is, if it closes instantly, make the window (ecuflash) smaller, and then open the file, so only 1 item is showing on the left side.
Yeah, I am getting the instant closeing of ECUFlash. The last thing that I am able to see, no matter what I do, is Hi octane launch map. The second I scroll any lower than that, ECUFlash immediately closes and I have to re-open the program. I would rather not have to delete anything in the XML if I dont have to.

**EDIT**
Even if I patch in just the coding for Tephramods to my old rom and leave the id the same. I will open the rom, but immediately close when I try to scroll down. This is so friggin frustrating.

Just take a backup of the XML, make a copy or whatever, then take out chunks of XML code after that item. Typically it's a table with 2 things under the indention rather than just 1 that mess mine up, but you can eventually narrow it down back taking big chunks out, then finding what's causing it.

Sometimes....there can be 2 different ones causing issues.

Ok, so using the method of deleting some information, I have been able to narrow it down to something in the Launch maps sections.

**EDIT**
Anybody else have the same issue and find out what it is. I would really like to be able to use the launch maps.

did anyone ever have issues opening v7? I downloaded all of them but scrolling to a certain point on the side bar it closes out ECUflash. I have all of the xmls in the evo folder under ecuflash. What is up with that?

I've had the same problems. Grab updated XML files from http://code.google.com/p/ecurom/sour...xml%2Fecuflash

SO I went to here and got all the xmls and roms. Downloaded them and moved the xmls to the evo folder under rommetadate in ecuflash. Then I tried opening the roms but as soon as I open I get a screen that says ecuflash has stopped working and it closes out

Just so everyone is aware, for the 94170715 XML, you have to find this line in the XML and delete it

<table name="== EDIT THE TABLES BELOW FOR LOAD OR PSI BOOST TARGETING ==" category="Global Boost Control 'TYPE' (Choose LOAD or PSI Targeted Boost Control)" address="0" type="1D"/>

If you dont, the ROM will keep on closing in ECUFlash

Then in the XML, you of course have to replace where it says 'TYPE' with either 'PSI' or 'LOAD'

you only have to remove the address="0" part

I need to set up and log my omni 4 bar. The car is running SD and is being remote tuned.
What’s a step by step way to log under evo scan. Right now i am using the JDM MAP logable value and it is not right -10 at idle when its at -16. I have been reading but get confused. Thanks

Hi gang,
Newish USDM Evo9 owner here. I did the simple instructions on page1 using the USDM Evo IX
Option 2 - Thanks to recompile 88590715 (v7 + Mods)
No issues flashing the ECU. I also swapped to a 3bar JDM MAP as I assume this is part of the install seeing the xml has the lines/rom has the modified tables described in the MAP logging thread. The car starts fine (big noobie smile) but when I test drove the car it max'd 12psi boost and slow, but smooth. I reflashed with stock rom and replaced the 1bar MAP and the car is back to normal.
I'm going to try again tomorrow if I get home early enough, hopefully a freshly installed ecuflash, clean rom directory would straighten it out. Is there anything I'm obviously doing wrong? can I go back to the 1bar map with a v7 rom? I will try to configure the stock rom with JDM MAP mod to see if the MAP sensor is an issue. thanks

What kind of boost controller are you using? The v7 WGDC maps i believe are all set at a value of 0. If your using Electronic boost control or the stock boost solenoid that may explain why it's running off the waste gate spring..

I ran into a similar issue when I first switched to TephraMOD. You may notice that your max load is close to, if not equal to, "WGDC=100% under this load" value in your ROM. TephraMOD uses gear based boost control and has the "Main Map Wastegate Duty" table zeroed out for all the cells. If you're on the stock boost control solenoid (BCS), you can simply make these 100% - same as your stock ROM. If you're using a different BCS, you'll want to reduce the values as discussed in one of the 'how-to' tutorial (I believe from mrfred). If you plan to use ECU controlled boost, you'll also want to examine "Boost Adder" and "Boost Desired Engine" and "Boost Error Correction" tables. I would also suggest reviewing other 'how-to' tutorials to verify some of the values that need to be changed for your MAP sensor, BCS (if applicable), and ECM boost control.

Hope this helps!

- Paul

Thanks 03Ev0luti0n & Zman15! This info (and now knowing that base maps are not there from the start) and this exercise of going into each branch and familiarizing myself with them, comparing it to the stock rom (i was postponing that til a good test run) is the perfect tephrav7 101 exercise. I think I learned a lot already having a small mission
I am trying to get V7 features with stock characteristics for now. Stock BCS, in fact I need to stick with this BCS. Really looking forward to testing it out! thanks

Ok so I have a 2007 EDM Evo IX running 88840016 rom.

My tuner (TSCOMPTUNED, getting ProTune 1) needs me to log Load 1Byte but it seems I need a Tephra V5.1 or greater rom to be able to do this.

When we first started on my tune he asked me if there was a V7 for my rom.
So after some searching I found this:
8884001X - You can use 88580714 with no problems. Just ensure you copy your immobiliser AND 0xFFA bits (yes 0xFFA) otherwise the immobiliser wont work
So I downloaded 88580714 and sent him that. Later he gets back to me and says that we can't use this rom because he is experiencing bugs on it from another customer. That the rom is so buggy the ecu tries to add more timing then he tunes it for making it highly dangerous.
So we decided to keep the original 88840016 rom.

I did some searching and found several other people seeing timing issues with this rom. Like they would set 30 or so but see -10 in the logs.
But there are also alot of people using this rom and liking it a lot but maybe they just haven't spotted the timing issue?

So now I don't know what to do. I can't find any info on another rom I could use on my car, everyone just says the same, use 88580714.
Is there another(tested) rom I can use on my car? Or can someone take another look at 88580714 and see what is causing the timing issues?
