beware if u got a dg motors tune!
Look for what it's worth Pete and Charlie tuned my car almost 6 months ago if not more at this point, we made 285 AWHP with a catback, drop in filter, and I/C pipes. He felt the tune was to risky at 25 PSI of boost and we dropped it and I am running 251 AWHP at 22 psi. Why did they do this? Simple they are known for safe tuning and not blowing engines up. Would I continue to use them as my tuner after all this, yes, for a simple reason, no CEL's, no over boosts, nothing exploded, no boost surge, no drama, just my change my oil oil and drive. Do I have future plans for my car to give it more power? Yes and just like always I'll ask Pete his advice on how not to blow my motor up so I can have fun daily driver, not one thats in the shop every other week. I can understand your frustration, but your car didn't explode, it's not sitting on the road dead some where.
In some ways I suppose DG and Pete are more honest then some others cause they don't want people to have to come back to them with broken motors, thrown rods, or other hazards of tuning a car. Until they blow someones motor up and I keep having good gains with them, I'll keep using them cause as I said it's daily ride, doesn't need to be in pieces, cause then I can't enjoy it. Thats just my $.02
Cheers

Oh yeah and PS: I posted this cause my tuner made me very happy with my car, not very sad, thats the point of tuners doing there job, so at least in my experience they did a good job and made me very happy.

This is something else.
I think the matters at hand keep getting twisted more and more as this thread lingers on.
We can easily see Dg supporters doing their best to change the direction of focus here... But the facts still remain very clear to me.
Every excuse in the book and all sorts of logic still don't support what the customer is complaining about. Excuses and logic can be great tools on a public forumn to cover up lies and deception.
The op was told that 424hp on dg's dyno makes over 500hp on a dynojet. Many customers are still being told the same. Dg fudges the cf to their liking, whenever necessary to get the customer out the door--- wasn't that the main point of this thread???
Is there a legitimate tuner on this forum that thinks 489hp on a dynojet is "outrageous" and "rod-throwing" for a stock block? Is it unquestionable that other tuners have made 5xx on fp reds with meth, 4" garret cores, and supporting mods? Or is this part of the deception? Is it just me, or are there several competant tuners that have been more than compfortable with these numbers? I do believe I've seen stock blocks live at this power level before and continue to live daily.
TTP?? Ivey?? Jr?? Buschur??-- Not surprising numbers from any of the above correct??
In comes the infamous correction factor--- "424=== OVER 500 MAN WOW!!" ... Control x button smoking just to put smiles on customer's faces.... Very sad. In fact recently another customer with an evo8, cosworth m2's, hta35r and other supporting mods was told the same at similar power levels.... Do we see a pattern here?
I think this topic is very clear to many. It's obvious that the op was very emotional when he started this thread and wasn't trying to win any spelling bees. He believed he was assisting the community with his warnings of the things that happened to him in the past few months...
Will evom need to see more reviews to understand what's going on here? Will dg supporters continue getting the "hush money" to continue their support??
Unfortunately a great bunch of guys will find out pertinent facts the hard way. If you've never tasted a fine aged wine or steak, you will always be happy with burgers and beer.

God i can't read through that anymore. I'm not on the up and up on DG's reputation, but I've read a couple threads that involve them.
To me a good argument is a well versed one, and the fact that the O.P and his buddies have a hard time making proper paragraphs doesn't look good on there part. Some people cannot be pleased no matter how hard you try, I deal with that day in and day out. If they really wanted the issue resolved they would have gone to the Tuner (DG) and explained there situation first, not cry on the Internets.
It's a Stock block car, i mean really, you want big numbers? spend the money on a proper bottom end first, instead of complaining that a company won't tune your car to the ragged edge.
Not taking sides, but something seems off

a 80mm red AND meth.. comon!
DG Motors might have messed up.
But man, IDRINKV8'S and XEVOX08 seem to have the most absurd posts on this forum. From the 4th grade grammar, to the 6th grade bashing.......this totally makes me partial to what DG is implying about these guys.
IDRINKV8'S seems to have a magical dyno number stuck in his head. I truly hope you shoot a rod through your block, so it can shut you up for a minute.
If the OP wasn't so obnoxious, I probably would be bashing DG, but since this post reeks of ****, I think the OP is full of it as well.

Take a look at his credibility here. This guy is just amazing.

Here we are: August 12th after working on Luke's car all day, It is a Friday night.
What does the clock say in the video?
1 A.M
Wow, we stayed past 1 a.m to finish your car up so you can enjoy it all weekend long instead of closing shop after working a long hot/humid week....
Car seemed to run smooth to me? Maybe I am wrong?
Check it out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSlABe3Cj1k
The car also seemed to make peak boost around 4,100rpm and the graph is pretty darn clean as well..

Sure the car ran smooth for a bit,,, till the long term fuel trims take over and take the afr's out of whack--- But you wouldn't know about that since it wasn't YOUR tune all of the sudden.
No one said Charlie couldn't tune-- stop trying to push the blame in his direction. This is not about the car being re-tuned for a smoother higher graph,,, This is about you bs'ing the community with cf garbage. This is about you telling the customer the wrong thing in order for you to get paid.
This is about you badmouthing others in the industry whom the majority respect in order to fill your pockets. Anyone with a half a brain can see you contradict yourself left and right. So keep up the posting, every post is another shovel's worth of dirt you are asking for.
Customer's cars taken out for joy rides?? Parts missing when customers come back to pick up their cars?? Hose clamps busting loose?? Unhappy clientel who decide to 'cross the bridge' to complete their projects??------ Where should we continue??
I'm doing my best here to 'hold back' Pete,,, work with me. Come clean and start fresh for the new year--- Your dad's a great guy and deserves better.
damn this is like the fastest growing thread on this site...
it's like b20 in here lmfaooo...
you guys are attacking them like they stole something from you... ok you weren't satisfied with the tune... go get re-tuned... you made the power you wanted BOOM enjoy and keep it flowing... everyone uses correction factors to show you big HP... it matters what your car runs in the 1/4... stop bashing on people...
bump for the NORTH EAST TUNERS... lmfaooo...

im surprised this thread hasnt been locked yet. it should. between the two incompetent and unhappy evo owners that got tuned from DG, they are cluster-fuc*ing this thread with useless banter.
it's quite clear DG needs to shape up in some shape, way, or form. all the trends for the DG bashing has continuously lead to one person to blame, pete. i think he needs to think things over. even if he doesnt think he's in the wrong. take a step back, and see where u are going wrong. a MASS amount of people dont bash a particular person to all hell for no reason. you are obviously screwing up some way.
-seperate friendships from business. dont do any customer any personal favors, on any level or form.
-for christs sake, use a 1.0 CF or SHOOTOUT MODE. noone gives a s*** about inconsistencies, when the most important consistency they want to see is CF used being a 1.0. if it reads low, so be it. so do many other types of dynos.
-give the customer what they NEED, and not what they want. that means not lying to them albeit by saying something just to say what they want to hear, or by fudging hp #s to make them happy.
from what i gather, DGMotors (pete?) is a pretty young guy trying to co-operate a business for the 1st time. the maturity and level of understanding isnt going to match someone of 10+yrs in the game. take some business communications and management classes..seems you need a lil of both under your belt along with the ability of making better decisions.
no man's perfect, but if you dont want to sink you and your pop's business, then you need to change the script and try a different take on your business practices.
give your customers what they need. a truthful, hardworking, respectful operation. no bull****. no fudging or manipulations. if you dont, the NE is a cutthroat and extremely competitive section in the country...probably THE most competitive, and if you cant fix where you're heading, DG is guna sink fast.
the verbal bashing from the OP seriously needs to be halted by the mods. voice your problem, your opinion, the issue, and how to resolve it and be on with it.
without knowing the OP and his little buddy, id have to say, judging by how they type and react, they are no more than a day older than the age requirement in order to get a drivers license.

1. OP was tuned @ DG motors. He made 429 whp. He was told by the dyno operator that he would make 18% more on dynojet.
**429X118% = 506.22**
2. OP questioned the Integrity of the dyno numbers and its operator @ DG motors that he decided to go to TSA dyno with Dynojet to see for himself if his car would make 18% more power compared to DG's Dyno.
3. On the dynojet, he made 444 off the street, which is 15 hp more than DG's dyno dynamics. (387 lbs of torque)
444/ 429 = 1.035 --It is about 3.5% gain.
He cranked up the boost to 31lbs, and made 459.
OP became aware that correction factor/load etc...was messed with @ DG, and he is upset with DG Motors not being truthful.
4. OP decided to get a retune.
5. After the street tune, he headed back to TSA dyno's dynojet.
6. Retune gave him 489 whp, and 426 lbs of torque @ 29-30lbs of boost.
7. OP made this thread, because he was upset, and wanted to warn Evom community.
Also, a former employee who was the driver of DG's shop car, admitted to wrongdoings of DG motors.
They might not have played with everyone's CF or/and load, but the fact is DG has made fictitious claims on their dyno results to some of their customers and to Evom community.

I'm not denying that they can make it, I'm just doubting the longevity of the motor. If i was a shop tuning a customers car i would be leaving in a safety margin, as it sounds like they did, in the beginning.

omg!!!!!!!! look at your graph it plain stinks, and look at when u put it on 0 smoothing..it not rocket science you gave me such a head ache trying to explain..the car was a pig remember when i left i said it wasn't fast at all?cause your numbers are fake it makes lots of sense after the dynojet run..
They will continue to argue with the graphs and all of the evidence you provided and attack your grammar and punctuation. They are trying to discredit you as an evo enthusiast because you didn't win a nobel prize. They will challenge you online to a physical confrontation and call you names like children to make you more upset. They are toying with your emotions. Just like when you were on their dyno.
My deepest apologies for introducing them to you guys at the best-buy meet. I was under the impression that they were an honest group of youngsters who had love for the 'evo game'. I am sorry that I didn't see everything behind the scenes.
I don't think they have learned their lessons. I see the defensive posture in the posts and confused supporters. I can't fault them for the support since they may have been ignorant to the facts.
For months they pushed the "our dyno reads sooooo looooowwww" scheme to their clients, when really the power levels were nothing more than average. Trap speeds at the track were never reavealed for over 95% of their customers because that would do too much damage.
Try to focus more on how much smoother the car feels and pulls. Concentrate on the positive things you picked up from this experience... Late night fun with some fun guys who love to drink and talk smack... Tons of hours in a dyno room watching mysterious results must of put some smiles on your faces right??? This is the way of good karma--- let them deal with the results of their own bad karma.
