If you would have read the whole thread you would know why, but rod started to bend and prob cause they are friends and Tom had an extra block ready to be done up. He does build engines now.

I personally think the power didn't bend the rods, more so the misfires that occurred at the 2012 shootout, but maybe it was the power, since the HG never lifted or pushed a drop of coolant and the vehicle always had regular ARP headstuds.

The first link above is a great overview on the car and its motor situation. Great job on the write up tom, its very accurate.

I think the stock motor would still be alive if I had a stronger CDI ignition on the car back then.

Another cool fact is that it holds the highest stock block power numbers on Buschur's mustang dyno (631/485).

Glad you like that write up Scott. I'm missing some of the small details as the power was progressed on the stock block, but i got most of the important aspects.
