I say bring in a low cost evo. Around $41,000. Make it reliable and fast.

The thought of an evo in the area of $60- up Evo dosnt work for me.

Take a good solid reliable evo,,,,, and anything that beats you, well Im sure its going to be a hell of alot more than $45k,,,, and that will speak enough for itself.

And when is this happening anyways?

This is what I thought before reading all of this thread,,,,,, even all the build the best of the best,, no limits........na,,, Im still looking to see a low low mod cost and a kick *** evo!!!!!!!

And dont rack your brian too very much over this anyways,,,,,,, your going to get great press regaurdless. But I still feel ,,, less is more,,,, more or less!!!!! : )

Go for the win david.

It's all about advertisement.

2nd place is the first looser.

Who placed 2nd @ last years Indy 500? Dont remember, but the Winner is the 1 who is celebrated. That's why they dont have a podium for the event. Buddy Rice was the winner.

Do what it takes to win. Look @ all your task's @ the track, evaluate the competition & their past experiences within this competition & go from there.

Do what it takes to win. We dont want to read about any excuses..........like we have all read in the past in those shoot-out's

Good Luck

Suspension, Brakes, Tires, Aerodynamics, Ergonomics....
driver will get the most out of the car (yes the engine, too) - on basically a road course - when those issues are tuned to his liking.
DB, I am looking forward to seeing you blow away the competition...

I did? It's the folks at C&D who would prefer us to bring something besides our EVO which has already seen its fair share of Supercar shootouts. We still would like to bring it but there is plenty of time between now and June.

Regards,
shiv

C&D is sweating over the fact that Mitsu (an company who does not heavily support C&D ads) will overshadow the big money players that financially support their rag. Mitsu coming in first would be "Brilliant"

And please rub it in when you do. And Dave, don't forget your 1) bags of ice to cool of the block and 2) towels and 3) fans to dry/clean off the starting line when you do your run (I'm referring to the "tools" with their turboed Viper) And they won't allow alky or water injection. WTF

Anyway, build a car that will obliterate the competition. Don't forget your "It's only a 4cyl" decals. When the results are published, I'll frame the issue...

I think you should build it to go head to head against Vishnu and let the best man win(not tryin to start a war or anything but it would be a good comparo of the parts and services offered by 2 of the favored Evo tuners out there)

but then again you dont know if Shiv will go all out this time or not
so I say just do an unlimited build

Dave, we have had our differences in the past and it has been well publicized, BUT I really hope you kick some ***.

Show everyone the EVO is the Top Dog and build a really well built car. Don't worry about the budget, but go all out, have fun and win the event.

My $.02 for whatever that is worth is that for people who actually look into modifications they buy before they buy them is that your name is already synonomous with high quality, reasonably priced parts that perform and come with great customer service. From a pure competitive standpoint I think it would be fun for you to go our there and blow everyones doors off! Just like in most competitions people rarely remember the person who came in 2nd. For me it would be really hard to go into a competition with the goal of coming in 2nd or 3rd. Good luck either way you go!

I agree and reiterate, David. Beat all the non-over-the-top Evo builds. Kick the majority if not ALL their asses.

That said, the idea of two builds has to be tempting as hell. Got an idea for a second driver?

I voted for budget... But now that I think about it go all out and spank everyone in the name of evo. Get Robi to do the suspension set up. Spank everyone, especially Shiv. lol
