Well David told me you won't see any or a least a slight gain over stock if you run on pump gas. You will see 20 - 30 whp on high boost ( Alky ).

deadbeat,

I owe you an apology I guess. I thought you had a complete Stage 4 on your car except for the injectors.

I have said numerous times all over these boards that I do not recommend upgrading to ANY turbo until you have completed our Stage 4 kit. Period.

There is more power in a FMIC and cams than you are going to gain by putting the 20G on the car, for sure-100%.

The 20G's will give a maximum of 25-30 whp over the stock turbo and this is at higher boost levels. The further the combination is from being a Stage 4 the less power you are going to gain from just throwing the turbo on the car.

Below is a complete list of what is included in our Stage 4 kit and the options you can get in Stage 4 for no extra cost. PLEASE, everyone, do yourself a favor and install these parts below before you every consider doing any turbo upgrade:

Full 3" turbo back exhaust (three optional mufflers and high flow cat or offroad pipe)
Boost gauge
Boost controller
Air filter kit (K&N drop in or open element)
Reflashed ECU (or AFC)

Upper i/c pipe
Lightweight battery kit
Tial, 1g or Forged BOV upgrade. (vary in price depending on which one you choose)
3" MAF pipe

Camshafts (HKS 264, 272 or 280's)
Upgraded FMIC (Standard, Deluxe or Race)

Fuel pump upgrade
Fuel injectors (680's-880's)

That is what we offer and is enough to put any well tuned EVO with a good driver into the 11's in the 1/4 mile. Some guys have done it on pump gas many have done it on race gas or pump/alky.

The fuel injectors you DO NOT need if you stick with the stock turbo. Add them before you add a turbo upgrade for sure.

That entire package can be bought for as low as $3420 and in that form has gone as fast as 11.65 at 117 mph on race fuel.

Take this into consideration when considering a turbo kit that is going to cost you very close to (at a minimum) half that that is going to gain only up to 30 whp. This is why I suggest buying these parts first.

well i plan on doing both fmic and cams, but i wanted the turbo first. i know u suggest the full stage 4 first but i wanted to do the 20g first. dont ask me y, im basicly getting the biger things done first. cams are next definitly but i still am going to have AL tune it without them. so the injectors and turbo will be in monday. im thinking i should get some race gas and turn up the boost for some better numbers. thanks dave

It will be intersting to see how it performs, we have had some Evo 8 2005's recently that did very well without cams.

AL if u dont mind i would like to add some race gas into the mix and up the boost for maybe 1 or 2 runs. the only thing is, i dont have upgraded head studs yet, butttt like i have said b4, i drive like ur typical 95 y/o women and my car has 16,000 miles on it. so if its ok with u , do a race gas run.

ps. the test pipe is not on yet because my gf didnt order it for my yet, so for valentines day she gave me a coupon good for one free test pipe. it was corny but cute. so i will still have on the hf cat for the runs which sucks. unless u have one lying around we can throw on?

let me know what u think

that means i would either have to drain my gas tank when i put the new turbo in, or i would have to run it empty. i mean i know only put maybe a gallon in there to begin with but im sure i will arive with gas in it u know. so most likely juts test the new turbo on pump 93 and then mix or race and 93.

That's what I did.. I mean you don't drain your tank before you use race gas normally right? Just try to get to the dyno on less than 1/4 of a tank

Actually, it should be fairly easy to drain the tank. Just hook up a line from the fuel return line, feed it into it in a drum and you're set.
