Whats new with the new 20g
I keep reading about how everyone says that Curt Brown says this thing spools like stock and is the perfect street turbo. You can't compare this turbo on his car to a typical EVO with basic bolt ons. I dont know the list of his mods and I may get flamed for this post but I thought I read a long while back he had a 2.1L stroker and a fully built motor with head work and all the goodies that will help air flow and therefore spool. I also read this turbo will have 500rmp of lag over the current 20G-9-5, not over the stock 16G. I think the hype is waayyyy too big now for only 2 of these things in existance and 40 on the way. The real test will be when real world customers get them and start running at the track on 93 octane only. I would think people in the market for a turbo like this are the kind of guys who did all the basic bolt-ons and cams and need more but dont want the lag or price tag of a 30R or 35R. Is 400whp on 93 octane by 4k rpm too much to ask? Maybe the 50 trim is for me. I just would like to stay with BR and not have to go to AMS or TT for such a set up. There needs to be something between the stocker and 3065. Maybe this turbo will prove to be it but until some "real world" EVOs bolt them on we wont know. Just my humble opinion....

Again the specs are much less believable and less exciting if it is in fact a 20g wheel. And you are setting yourself up for a big disappointment if you think this turbo is going to perform as well as a BB 50 trim. The 20g-9 was a good turbo because it still had decent spool. Add another "500rpm of lag" and you may as well get a 50lb/min supporting 500whp 50 trim.
