removing acd

I have a evo 8 2005.... with 96k miles.... I'm wondering who has took off their acd from their car and how is it working... if took my acd off, would I have to get a 03,04 tc?? Or can I just plug the tc banjo bolt hole with a cap???? Sorry for sounding noobish.... my acd is still working but I just wana know so when my acd pump goes out I can do something fast...thxs in advance

I took it off my 05, and replaced it with an 03 transfer case. Works great. Sold the pump and ACD case. I wouldnt run the acd case without the pump though.

Seems to be fairly common to have the 3 lights. My pump still worked, but the lights were there. It has to be a sensor issue or computer issue.

I don't see the point unless yours is broken and you don't want to pay to have it fixed. If you're not happy with how it performs contact Gruupe-S and get one of their performance (street or track) ACD reflashes.

Before my 06 I had an 03 with the ralliart front limited slip. I honestly believe it had better track manners than the stock ACD setup. I can't speak about those that have a reflash.

Either way both are superior to an open front diff.
