I'd love to see some result of any of the Rotella oils. I've read great things about them on other forums for racing/dailying. I may try it and see.

Motul 300v

Perhaps slightly off topic but I've had excellent experience with Motul 300v. I ran it almost exclusively in my Husaberg 570 dirt bike from Chile to Montana last year. 21k miles and 430 hard hours only changing the oil at double the factory interval on a motor that the factory recommends piston replacement at 90 hours. Runs like new, burns no oil, and only required one valve adjustment.

Motul 300v is a great oil. My only issue is just that its not easily accessible locally. Sure I can order a bunch online, but I like knowing I can go down the street and pick up a quart in an emergency. It is on my list of oils to try for sure though.

Thanks again for everyone who has contributed. I wanted to post some information on here from my own personal experiences. This is just to put the information out there, I don't have any agenda either way.

I have a build thread here where you can read more on it, but basically I have an oem shortblock with balance shafts deleted, with roughly 60k miles on it, the head was sent out to MAP for a stage 1 treatment, Tomei 270 cams, BC titanium retainers, BC springs, Supertech ss intake/Inconel exh vallves, Topline lifters, kiggly hla.

First initial fill, the shop used Eneos 5w30. here is a video of the car at idle.

This was a cold startup after the car had been sitting all day to make sure everything was cooled down. Yes, the car needs to be tuned still btw.

So next what I did, was changed the oil out. swapped out the Eneos 5w30 , and the denso oil filter for Amsoil zrod 10w30 and a Royal Purple oil filter. I drove the car back home and let it sit overnight to make sure everything was nice and cooled down as before.

Heres the video of idle with the Amsoil. Outside temps were pretty close to both days. Both times the car was pretty much equally cooled down.

Without running it even too much it seemed like just swapping out the oil had helped a lot with the ticking noise. In person it is even more noticeable of a difference. It pretty much is all gone. I think one part of it is due to ENEOS
looked like it is on thin side of a 5w30, similar to when I tried Penn Ultra 5w30.

Here is a video of the Eneos 5w30 being drained out. This is with the oil warmed up, oil had maybe 35 miles on it. Reason I wanted to change the oil this early was because its a fresh build and wanted to make sure nothing weird was coming out--Im really ocd for stuff like this. Anyhow here is the oil. The description is wrong, it is actually Eneos 5w30.

Its almost scary how thin this stuff comes out. It had me worried, I had thought coolant got mixed in with the oil but after testing all is well.
