New BW EFR Turbo Thread
The 8374 has shown some great results, but its a big move up the power band and gives up a considerable amount of spool compared to what the 7163 should do. Also anyone seriously considering an 8374 should probably be looking at the 9174, there are some posts showing that little bit of spool the 9174 gives up compared to the 8374 is more than made up for up high.
If BW adds mixed-flow and aluminim bearing housings to more of the EFR line, then the 7670 might be worth revisiting.

Maybe powerdriver was referring to this car: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...yno-graph.html
Very impressive results, but not quite as awesome as claimed: 590wtq @ 4100RPM.
Too bad the car was cursed. I wonder if he ever rebuilt it?
It's also funny to see that was from four years ago, but we still haven't seen a single 7163 / 4G63 dyno in the wild. At least we're close with a few builds and tunes reported in this thread.
Did Geoff @ Full-Race ever post any info? I thought he was running a 7163 on his personal Evo at one point.

Is anyone running EFRs in motorsports? even just HPDE? I don't mean factory backed/sponsored where you never hear how many turbos they go through, but independent guys who work them for 30mins at a time, and will care if it doesn't hold up.
I'm guessing wishful thinking, since it sounds like just dyno numbers are hard to get. but aluminum bearing cases, etc. etc. sound like trouble for real track abuse.

MrFred
He is referring to RRE (RoadraceEngineering) 600whp Evo 8 TA car that was built few years ago in SoCal. Frankly the Dynopack at RRE must be "interpreted" for DJ numbers...so 600whp is not 600whp as it seems.
That is not the problem in itself- the issue is/was that the engine blew up, and more than likely too much backpressure..as 7670 has lots backpressure just like BBK-B at that level of performance, as R/TErnie and others have found.
So nothing to think here..nothing has changed.
Same as UHURU pointed...its all pies in the sky

There's another plot.
I am in the process of replacing my GT35r for an EFR7670 on my car which is built for AWD Unlimited time attack, NASA TTU, Global TA, gridlife TA and such.
Nemo Racing, Tilton Racing, as well as a few other top contenders in WTAC run EFR 7670-8374.
They've tried it, and proven the turbos work for road racing.
My knowledge on EFR's isn't as extreme as some of yours however, Nemsin, you sir are an a$$ and the reason I do not feel like visiting this forum more often.
You are the one making claims, and then posting dyno charts which do not support those claims. Sorry if getting called out on it hurt your feelings. Still waiting to see 600wtg at 3800rpm.
