Had a friend put down 510/380 on 28psi on a stock block/stock cams Evo x. Going to start a thread on X threads with mod list. We jut out this turbo on last week and has performed well. E85 25g spiking 32 dropping to 28psi. Just wanted to comment to show this turbo is doing good things for the price. I'd recommend it.

awesome! i'm fabbing a lower intercooler pipe, then fluids and i can start this car. hope it makes some serious power on a 98 octane tune!

It cost me about $905 for everything to build it myself. All parts bought seperately: 11.5 hotside, td06 turbine wheel, 25g antisurge compressor kit, kinugawa actuator, 1.7 bar spring, ss water and oil lines, new gaskets, compressor outlet pipe, new stud kit, and machining the catridge and balancing from a turbo shop.

I emailed kinugawa and specifically asked if the housing i needed could be delivered by aug 9th. I was told it was in stock and yes it would be. I placed my order. I emailed them back stating the order was placed and could they please update me with shipping info as they get it. They responded that they received my order and it would ship first thing the next day (so i would ship last friday the 2nd). I got tracking info today and it had just went thru sort in taiwan. First i thought it was coming from california not taiwan. And why was it just sent out monday not when you told me it would go out. Now there is no way im getting this by friday and in so pissed. I took vacation to get this turbo swap done so i could iron out the kinks without trying to rush my dd back on the road. So pissed. /rant

You guys could try removing the nut from the waste gate arm and trimming a few threads off. That way you could get even more preload.

My issue with it is that the exhaust pulses were so strong that they were pushing the waste gate flapper open at 32 psi.

My solution was to use an external waste gate in conjunction with the internal. Works perfectly. Hits 30# and holds it to redline. I can also hit 34 for my e85 tune.

ordered mine and on the way....hope your right tom!

Ha, you're pissed? I just found out last night my turbo is blown. Floored it for the first time and heard a horrible screech like tires screeching but it was my turbo.... so sad. I didn't even get to use it and I dumped another 2500 down the drain.

What the **** bro? You have zero luck. See if james can rebuild it. The parts are cheap so it shouldnt be too expensive to fix

How did you blow the turbo first time out? Was it even a Kinugawa?

Well I'm sorry. I mean flooring it after a couple of weeks. I've had problems with super slow spool and not hitting my target boost etc. I tightened wastegate all the way, did a boost leak test etc. Couldn't figure it out. Now I'm hearing allsorts of noises... So yea It's a 20g kit for the cobalt SS that I got rebuilt with a 25g cartridge etc etc.

Their customer service at kinugawa is so poor. I had emailed them prior to placing my order to make sure my order would arrive by the 9th. I was told it was in stock and would arrive on time. It was not in stock snd shipped from taiwan. Heres the thing that really pisses me off. I emailed them yesterday and asked if the 8cm housing (i ordered the 10cm) was in stock in california and could be overnight shipped to receive on friday. They said it was not in stock in california but they could overnight it to me from taiwan for $50. I paid $40.10 to ship this **** and have it not get to me on time. Knowing that they made a mistake why not contact me and let me know and give me the option to pay the extra $9.90 and receive my item on time? Or better yet pay the difference abd eat the cost as a good business decision and keep a customer instead of lose one
