California techs must be geniuses. Inspection techs in TX don't know a turbo from a tie rod.

PD, CHP, etc have all had training to be able to identify modified parts. they send you to the ref for ANYTHING that looks out of place, even something as simple as a colored vacuum line or a part with a label on it.
the state ref is the most crazy strict office i've ever seen. they fail people for anything, and i mean anything that's not right. 1* of timing? fail. one of those vauum lines? fail. it's nuts.
people get sent to the ref for legal stuff all the time. PD figures it's easier to just send everyone and let the ref figure it out. this is in my town, that is.
i used to have a 100%-looking engine bay, but my IC piping ruined that. i have a CARB number on it.. but it will probably still get me sent to the ref because i have an exposed air filter. this is why peeps in CA NEVER sell our stock parts LOL

What is the differences between the 2 dyno ?

stock block camshaft evo 9 with BB Black mhi turbine house 3th!! gear 26 psi @ 4000 rpm .
Seems like Green is the new Red. :-) Presumably though, the single scroll Green is making the same power as a Red but with lower exhaust manifold pressure and EGTs. Still hoping we'll be shown some sort of confirmation of that though.

Yes that is sure, the lower exhaust manifold pressure and EGT , and the external wastegate are welcome but the spoolin time loose would be an interesting question... exspecially with 2.0 liter or 2.2 liter engine where the bb black MHI turbine house was a bit slow at 2nd gear for autocross drifting without antilag but at all was fine

long time ago ATP offered similiar bolt on turbine house for garrett turbo evo manifold : http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant...egory_Code=GTH

That is quite interesting, Why was the ATP housing never successful?

Also they make a downpipe which would appear to work with the current FP housing. http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant...egory_Code=GTH

Unless it has all been discontinued lol

The ATP housing has a 90 degree bend in the scroll to allow the use of a standard rotation Garrett turbo.

It's a turd and not even remotely comparable.

Yes the geometry looks somewhat suspect. I never knew about that housing before though.

This looks a little quicker than a turd to me...

Don't disagree 9.32 is no joke but to put it in perspective the DSM82 which is essentially the same thing has been 9.1 in our DSM SS housing. That 90* turn is definitely robbing some power.

I think we might order one of these to see if it fits, if it's using the Garrett 3.55" OD flange it should bolt up to the flange but there might be other clearance issues.

Far enough, one quick one...

Compared to the several on here that have shown pretty miserable spool and power though, is still a turd in my book.

If you referring to Curt brown. That car was a lot lighter and well it was Curt Brown. To put things in perspective.

So true. Sometimes I feel like fabbing up some oem engine bay covers like you see on the newer audis and lexuses, where you cant even see the fluid reservoirs even. Cover that whole thing up, if they cant see it they cant fail you.
