Im actually in the middle of tuning my car now with the HPb-IX. Coming from a BBK full this turbo is a little less responsive but not by much. I have a dual map tune on pump gas. The low boost is about 22-23 psi and the "high boost" is a spike to 27-28 flat lining to 26. We were having trouble on the top end of pull with some knock. So i removed the egr valve and installed a testpipe. Once we tweak the tune again and hopefully beat the knock i can get some results posted.

Unfortunately the roads here are never just flat so virtual dyno results can be slightly skewed. But i plan on getting the car to a dyno once the tune is done.

I will say this turbo pulls pretty good. Definitely a little harder than the Full. The sounds this turbo makes are insane. Sounds like a mini jet engine. Likes to whistle alot.

So did FP discontinue this turbo already? It's not on their website anymore

There were reports of long estimated delivery times, then like you said it disappeared from their site. I have not seen anyone post actually receiving one. Maybe call FP and get the story and report back. It looked like a nice addition to their lineup.

Andy got one on his Timeattack/Gridlife Evo. 450ish I believe. But ya shame, likely an MHI sourcing issue.

Seems to me that FP likes to toss together spare parts and sell them until they run out, calling then "new" and hyping them up.
Great idea to reduce losses, IMO.

I thought all the RS guys were either sticking with stock turbos or running the new BW7163's?!

No, I've received mine as well. New house has become priority though so it will be the winter project and will sit in the box until then.

I know how this goes, I was probably one of the very first to order and I'm just now getting around to dropping the car off.

I believe there are only about a dozen of these turbos out there.

If the FP54 was so great, don't you think FP would keep offering it? And yes, MHI housings are still around. Blouch and Owens Development still offer multiple turbos that use the MHI housing.

Yes and no. The issue is likely the MHI sourcing problem, because there are chinese copies of the MHI housing and more then one thread on the topic which is likely what the others are getting due to the "not made anymore" facts. The second issue is they can't likely use it in the SS housing because it's too big aerodynamically for this and the 71 exhaust wheels.

Is there any proof that Blouch and Owens Developments are using "chinese copies of the MHI housing"? Seems like a pretty harmful claim to be insinuating.

Considering the poor history of the Chinese housings that have been tried (ebay, MAP) it would seem like a bad business move as well.
