I'm looking into Callies cranks. Where can I get more info on them?

Oil opening looks centered here (although hole under still makes the right side weak). But it is better than oil opening closer to right side. They should have cut the tear drop further to the left because the oil passage is under on right. Personally, I'd prefer tear drop rotated 90° clockwise. As crank twists, oil would flow better with tear drop going to right instead of left.

Yeah unfortunately OEM isn't strong enough for me in a 2.4 platform.

I think once we magniflux it, micor polish it, and balance it, it will be fine.

I talked with Manley in December 2017 so it's definitely not a revised version.

I'm sure they had a reason and R&D on why the oil openings are designed, engineered and manufactured this way.
I'm no engineer but how are other crank oil openings designed? different?

Besides the micro fracture on OP's Crank which has 30,000 miles (don't forget that!!!), how many of these cranks are out there which have failed completely? like broke in half etc.etc.

They can be drilled differently and at different angles, chamfers can be changed as well too.

A fair amount of people have posted up about broken Manley cranks but up until now all the ones I've seen were forged, not billet. Also pretty much all of those guys are pretty hardcore track guys that definitely put the car through its paces. A lot of track guys have also cracked factory cranks as well so it's definitely not an isolated issue with just Manley. Keep in mind that we don't know how many cranks Manley sells vs other companies so we can't really say for sure that other manufacturers don't have this cracking issue on rod journal #4.

With that said, it seems like most guys have had the best luck with the K1 billet stuff.

At that time they had told me they had a new version with a stronger design due to a revised oiling hole and it was still under testing at that time. I have not talked to them since so I have no idea when they plan to release said design.

Close up pictures of all the oil ports would be nice. If not all, then just the #4
thanks!

6 grams on a crankshaft doesn't sound like much.

You are talking about the new crank you have received from Manley, right?

Idk about manley, but Eagle states their cranks come +/-2% and need to be balanced. 6 grams is not a lot on 30lb+ crank.
