Unfortunately the DSM is kind of like the factory, the man, the guy that has the final say so and was the one that voided the warrenty. I have talked to him about voiding the warrenty without having a mechanical problem. He told me that in the future if I have any problems with the car, such problems will be examined to pin point the cause of such mechanical failure. This however is just sun shine being blown up my as* to prevent me from getting crazy. This is same tactic that Mitsubishi uses to void warrenties with Track events and MOD events. Its sucks and I'm over it. I'll fight the claim if my car ever has any problems but intill them I will continue preforming my maintience myself to ensure it is done properly and my vehicle is not sabotaged. I understand the repurcusions, anyways I'll probably be getting an IS350 or BMW 335 in the near future when I graduate from college so I'm not too worried. This is more or less a warning for others about Norco Mitsubishi and for others to take heed not to overlook their modifications when bringing their vehicle in for a friendly check up. Mitsubishi has forever lost my loyalty as a consumer and positive spokes person despite the fact I love driving the hell out of my car.

Oh yeah, the guy with the Yoda avatar. your right Evos rock but Mitsubishi sucks a big one. I'll never pay over 30K for a fast sports compact. Without a warrenty theres no bang for your buck.

It wasn't my warranty that was voided. Do a quick search of this forum.

Sorry to hear about you experience. Double for Mitsu. I will probably never buy another one again just for that reason.

Anyways, that being said I love my IX

sad thing is, they know it's a freaking Evo and people will mod it. They really need to be a bit more leanient with us.

As far as water going all the way through the Evo's intake piping -> intercooler -> intercooler piping and then ingested into the engine.. I'll just say "maybe" because I had a hard time believing that my Eclipse could have sucked in that much water through 5 feet of 3" piping but it did.
My whole point is that the particular suction pipe held the filter under the hood but above the frame rail almost excatly where the factory filter was located.

just depends on the dealer. we had an evo that was quite modified in the shop lately. he was running EGTs so high that his exhaust burned (and i mean ****ing scorched to death) the RH cv shaft seal out of the ACD/Transfer case, causing all the oil to come out and trashed the TC lol. warrantied because the guy had the ***** to fight w/ our dsm and he's a good customer. Advised him to make a heat shield/use header wrap.

I would go in there and explain them you have contacted the better business bureau about this situation. dont go nuts, just be nice and professional. Explain to them if they recieve complaints it could affect there standing as a business in the community, and question whether or not they want the "publicity" Then follow through with it if they dont come around. Good luck though, its total bs.

Take the car to a different dealership because they have to PROVE that the K&N and the BOV caused the "ISSUE" to break whatever its going to break in the future lol. And im sorry but they cant. Oh well I have dealt with a great dealership out here that knows what a warranty really is.

Not trying to clutter the thread, but stories like this are exactly why I didn't buy an Evo that was under warranty. I knew that no matter what it would be voided, if not for modding maybe something like using an automatic car wash.

Just be as loud and difficult as possible. Go in there and complain loudly on the sales floor. Make it a financing decision for them where silencing you is cheaper than keeping you unhappy.
