Mine did the same thing without me ever touching it. I went to the local dealer and asked the service manager if he could get a replacement under warranty. Without even coming out and looking at it, he told me that any warranty work on Evo's had to be approved by the regional warranty rep. I asked him to just take a few minutes and look at it before he gave me a bull**** answer. Reluctantly, he came outside, took one look at it and said he was going to go back in and order a new one. So, yes. They should have no problem replacing it under warranty.

My dealer told me they dont do the regional rep thing anymore. He said they were instructed to take pictures of any EVO warranty claim and send them straight to Mitsu USA for approval. Not sure if that is true, but I got a brand new EVO VIII wing for free this spring.

42,000 on stock clutch still going fine. I wouldn't replace it unless you really feel its necessary. But then again might as well because everything is already taken apart. Definitely go OEM only because I'm pretty sure they would void your warranty if you put anything else in.

Nice to hear. Well I'm going tomorrow so I'll ask while I'm there.

Mitsubishi warrantied out my wing today.

You can read the follow up to this. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=278773

Long story short... im the second owner of the car, (just bought it), I asked them to replace, they denied. I called corporate, they denied. I called corporate back 2 weeks later & said i wasnt being treated fair, they approved. Here are the results!

In this picture, you can barely see it, but the top of the carbon fiber was so bad you can still make it out...even at this crazy angle.

The results!

Nice, luckily i havent had any problems with my 03 wing fading, cracking or peeling. I think some of them had a problem with the clearcoat or maybe more exposure to the sun affects it.

Nice looking RR though, congrats on the purchase. Now time to start modding it, i remember the day 3 years ago when my car looked VERY similar to yours (asthetically wise, pics in my sig)

I'm always suprised when I hear that they warrantied anything. Sounds like it was a big headache, though. Looks good now.

A little while ago I took my car in because the transmission was fd. The parts and service manager stated "As long as the car is back to stock he will honor all warranty items" I had pleanty of mods that I didnt want to take off the car when I took it in including: Downpipe, exaust, water/alky injection, and intercooler. I told him I bought the car with those on it. They replaced my clutch, all my syncros and gears. Total bill was above 7k. Since then they will no longer do anymore warranty work.

I have been looking over this thread at how some of you guys have been treated and its rediculous! I am a warranty manager for Lotus Cars, USA. so I know the types of things that will and will not be covered by warranty. I think Mitsu has dropped the ball with their warranty coverage. Its almost enough to keep my from buying an EVO
